Poole vs Glasgow KOC SF 1st leg 27/08/25
LisaColette replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Also quite a few clubs don't own the stadium and in Poole’s situation, stadium use is short term future (last time i heard them asked about it in the press). I think Poole fans enjoyed H15. In fact quite a few were jumping up and down. So i think they were entertained enough. Also the track was way better than in previous weeks, so will take that. -

From where I was stood Glasgow were just holding their own till heat 7. The track grading did go on for a while, but was in both directions. Anyway as always it's the same for both teams. I'm begining to think Glasgow's form might be on a downward path, certainly Dan Thompson didn't show the form of his last visit guest appearance at Wimborne Road, I know everyone loves Bomber but I see a rider riding on experience rather than adrenaline, great in many ways but without an edge. Bowes was pants, the reserves mediocre, the rest inconsistent. That's why Glasgow lost, even though Kerr has rubbish bike prep, and Anders is struggling. Poole can be expected to come out on top overall with this one, unless Cami is able to work some kind of magic. -

The same Nagel who couldn’t fit UK into his schedule in the winter and the same one when asked a few weeks before signing for Glasgow who gave the same answer, then all of a sudden can do. So him showing an interest is utter crap, worked out ££££ well for him. I’m sure all other clubs would love to do half the stuff Glasgow have done to their stadium and track as well, however they don’t have a spare few million lying around like they do. -

Nothing better than a Cami meltdown, one of the worlds finer sights. -

If King's Lynn can get a win vs Sheffield (weather pending) I think, overall, the club can hold it's head up high to finish on 30 points. When you look at the Belle Vue septet, it's not a bad effort. The difference between the 2 clubs is clearly heatleaders. If the Premiership survive for 2026, it's an absolute must King's Lynn employs an 8.00+ No1 -
Fair point but buster needs to throw some money at riders lol

Yes hope so the 3k free tickets were given away at the Beatson cancer charity run at the weekend to all the entries. it is a event supported massively by Allied Vehicles and raises lots of money for the charity along with lots of other events that Allied are associated with in Scotland - Today

When do you suggest they should have run it then ? Looking at both team's fixtures, either one or both were riding every Thursday from the start of April to today, other than May 8th and May 29th when there were no Premiership matches at all. Didn't Lynn also get dog's abuse for calling off a meeting the day before and all the experts on here saying the forecast rain didn't come and the track would have been perfect ? The forecast for Sheffield in the late afternoon was for light rain and none after about 6pm so in theory the meeting could have gone ahead. There was a torrential downpour just after 6 which made the track unrideable and the track staff did everything they could but not all the riders were happy to race so the ref called it off. How is any of this the fault of the Sheffield promotion ? How long is the journey from Ipswich to Sheffield ? 3.5 to 4 hours on a good run ? Assuming nobody wants to risk getting there at the last minute, I would guess most fans would be setting off between 2pm and 3pm. Do you expect them to be psychic and call it off 3 hours before it has even rained ? I would say that it is likely it won't need to be run anyway. If Ipswich win at home next Thursday then the playoffs will be sorted without this match.

100% that track was raceable by 8pm. After a downpour the track staff did a great job with it took the wet layer off looked fine. Not one bike was warmed up which tells you everything you need to know. Riders dictating. once more it’s the fans that suffer, and also the sport. Talking to a father and son on way out it was only their 3rd meeting can you honestly blame them if they never came back? I won’t be attending again this season

You mean Glasgow spend money on dirt, equipment, facilities for the riders instead of trips to Vegas, big win bonuses for only the 1st match of the season against Glasgow. Are the financial reasons that bad you cant afford some dirt, diesel to run more than one tractor and get your track man an extra pair of hands ?! As for affording Nagel ,what exactly you talking about? The no sign on fee, uses club bike/and club mechanic (who only charges fuel and food), the fact he showed interest in coming to Glasgow after the SGP2 before Glasgow even approached him And your knowledge of the Workington situation isnt even worth commenting on, other than if you think you know half a story take it as you know hee haw. As for the ref's decisions, is what it is, after 15 heats Poole won, no complaints here, thats sports. But there is absolutely no excuse to scrape the track bare on every grade. Tracks come alive after heat 7, Wimborne becames a soulless dirt track after heat 7. If you have a win at all costs attitude then fair play thats your call, but lets stop the BS denial of what you do to achieve that win, and the impact that has for fan entertainment and the core fundamental of bikes riding on dirt. Ironically your team building would still be as strong as they are now with a home track prepared and graded to actually race on,only difference is fans would see what speedway should look like on a regualr basis and not just a handful of heats here and there. -

Definitely. Great to hear from the Brummies after the meeting too, with a particular shout out to Zagar who managed to drop the f-bomb at least eight times in a 3 minute interview, it was brilliant! -

Well let's hope the 3000 free tickets the Facennas are giving away lead to a bumper crowd and some good racing. It'll be interesting to see how many return if/when the Tigers lose, despite the good racing?! -
Lawson the rider then and build from there but one thing for certain need a number one
