I suppose it's possible Poole could be favourites for the league, while also appearing to have they'd poorest starting 7, because the points limit keeps getting lowered. If you compare a team to their opponents they can look strong, but compare them to the previous seasons side & they can look weak(er).

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
szkocjasid replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
With Championship clubs announcing season tickets, with only 8 hone league matches included, does that mean the Premiership is definitely going ahead? If there's a chance of Ipswich & Sheffield not competing, leaving Leicester, Lynn & Belle Vue facing a drop down to the Champ, how can they plan season tickets? - Yesterday

Odious man. At least they haven't got his vile spouse involved. -
Donât know where Bonjangles got them from, but they are all available on GBSpeedway. Itâs a fantastic site if youâve never used it before⌠https://www.gbspeedway.com/2025/averagelist.php?mc1=x&mc2=a&mc3=y&mc4=x&search=all&sort=average&meets=All&bp=inc&hora=all&num=&league=B&oleague=B&mleague=B&above=&lower=&upper=&below=

Agreed think pooles 1-5 will be weaker than Oxfordâs rumoured top 5 and Glasgow well we will wait and see as they have 2 unknown riders in at 2&4. And as you say Poole look strong in the reserve berth with the potential signing of Cooper Rushen,on paper one of the stronger pairings but not many reserve pairings have been announced yet, actually thinking about it I would have to say Redcars reserve pairing has to be the strongest looking at it again.

Scunthorpe 2026
allthegearbutnaeidea replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You have one problem with your one big league for 2026, and thatâs the fact that none of the 9 championship clubs will bow down to the Ipswich way. -
But .. Apart from that. ? Comparing Chalk and Cheese isn't it? Yet, it appears, some UK promoters seem to think what the UK produces has some similarities.. Baffling... Just deliver the sport you can afford to, with the minimal outlay..

To find a riders average: If you go into the British Speedway website, click on the 3 lines at the top left to open the menu, click on Championship and then 2025 declarations, and then click on issue 27 amended at the bottom of that list. That gives you ask the rider averages (by team) using column A. Multiply any Brit by 97.5% to get their reduced average for team building

Lawson's scoring dropped off after he missed the KO Cup semi at Glasgow when they were doing engine testing. I presume his back injury hindered him for the rest of the year
-
No, he was posting constructive opinions on Pooles team as he is entitled to and you hit back with a sarcastic comment about the goings on at his club. Sums you up. Complete knob head.

Well I ventured into Tesco for groceries and yes picked up a copy of Speedway Star. First one I habought for a couple of years. Great article on one of my favourite riders Simmo âŚ.who I watched from a raw novice. An accomplished motorcyclist on trials grass and speedway. Good interview with Jason Doyle,in ehich he made some fair and reasonable points from an Australian riderâs perspective. Most of the rest was the usual out of season gossip ⌠good to see it on the shelves at Tesco though.

Going to be sitting a bit tight for quite a while the extraleague has just signed a new tv deal worth over 14 million pounds, 3 million more than the last deal and crowds at most tracks have been pretty much the same as previous years, WrocĹaw was sold out for the complete season, tracks where crowds were down were the least successful ones

Poole 2026
allthegearbutnaeidea replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Where are those averages available? Youâre looking at it from a Poole pov, Iâm a neutral, Kyle Howarth and Scott Nicholls are better than Zach Cook, both average wise, and just from watching them. Zach Cook scored 5pts at Plymouth three times, 4 at Edinburgh, 4 at Berwick last season, those 3 teams werenât amongst the best in the league (slightly harsh on Edinburgh from myself, but it was a 3 horse race last year really). He was at Berwick before the signings of Morris and Jeppesen and only managed to beat Smith, his 4 other points came from falls and retirements. At Edinburgh he beat Grahn and Starke, his other two points were from retirements. This was all whilst riding at the considerably easier number 4 position. Compare his scores to Kyle Howarth, whoâs lowest score was 6, at Poole, and a bunch of 7âs, but ultimately far more consistent around the tracks, at number 5. Scott Nicholls scored 7+3 away to Edinburgh on his comeback meeting, a poor score of 3 on his home debut then managed at least 9 thereafter. -
Yep was just about to say this, when lt mattered last year Zach beat Howarth 2 times in a row on his own track, and wouldâve been 3 had Howarth not rode through him earlier on in the meeting. itâs tough to compare Pooles team to Glasgows as 2 or their riders Iâve never seen. I fancy us over Redcarr and also over Oxford, although we donât know Oxfords reserves yet so it is too early to say. I agree that Glasgows have certainly laid down a marker, but we will be there come the business end which is when the medals are up for grabs
-
Yes that is true but when it comes to the play offs Zach outperformed Kyle so Howarth was more consistent over the season, he did have one of his best seasons.
-
Certainly a small technical track if he ends up at the Plymouth polo mint track đ
-
Doyles already jumped
-
Glasgow have to be favourites. It remains to be seen how Bowes will fare, personally I have my doubts about him.
-
Howarth averaged considerably more than Cook from a more difficult riding position.
-
Has Barney Kennet persuaded the Dugard family to get speedway back at Arlington?
-
Poole fans keep mentioning the Bowes double figure score at Wimborne on his 1st visit but he also scored 2 Points from 4 Rides on his second visit to Wimborne this year. I think Poole are the strongest team at reserve assuming Rushen is the No.7 but the confirmed / rumoured 1-5 is weaker than Glasgow and Oxford's confirmed / rumoured 1-5.
