  1. Past hour
  2. Hope they have decent lighting at Grudziądz.. it's pitch black in Gdańsk now and it's not due to start tomorrow for another 40 minutes.
  3. This is all because their armholes are making buttons over the tv contract...
  4. Owlerton is quite narrow but with long straights. Always compared it to Kingsmead. Guess on the high revving laydowns - you get it wrong and you will rapidly run out of room.
  5. The riders and fans put me off making an offer
  6. Today
  7. To speak about John Louis and that he wouldn’t put up with management, riders and fans is such a pathetic comment and you need to wash your mouth out. John Louis loved Ipswich and would love to see Ipswich win as much as it pains you, but get over it. His name is adored in Ipswich and not just amongst speedway fans, he is a legend of the town and will be honoured in the Tigers meeting a week after the final. Why do you think John wouldn’t love Emil (most friendly guy in speedway) King and Doyle (dedicated to the witches), Ellis who he would have a laugh with, Brennan Edwards and Thompson who are bright young British riders which always made him smile.
  8. A lot is speedways main problems today have been self inflicted. ( not withstanding track closures)Self interest and fans with money trying their hand at Promoting and be taken for a ride in a lot of cases.Riders dictating when and where they want to ride are just a few of the problems.
  9. We started 2025 with 16 team of 7 riders, total 112 riders. Quick check showed that there were only 90 unique riders , cos of double uppers. So enough riders to complete almost 13 teams with no double uppers allowed. Maybe they will follow one of county cricket's rejected ideas of 2 zones of 6 sides (north could have 7) . Each would race each other twice home and away. Top two clubs in each zone race the p.offs. you could have a separate KO cup competition all clubs drawn outh of the hat In speedways case the "south" zone would be Plymouth Poole Ipswich Oxford Kings Lynn and Leicester The rest woudl be "north" Race nights - well good luck with that.
  10. Would not work There’s simply not enough riders of suitable competitive quality to run a format where eventually teams from regions/divisions/whatever meet in the playoffs /final because such numbers of teams would need doubling up and what happens if/when two teams meet who share one or more riders?
  11. I hope it is a good final over both legs with both teams capable of winning. Last year was too one sided with Leicester "running out of steam" at the end - probably because they had to wait to see who their opponents were and possibly race rusty. I would like to see Ipswich as champions because they built the best team this year and having lost out last year to injuries (and had significant injuries this year which could have affected them again), I think it would be a great result for them. I appreciate that the best team will be the one that wins over the two legs but In October, it is likely to be wet which will have an impact on performances. If Leicester win, I won't be unhappy I just think Ipswich have the edge this year.
  12. I agree with the overall view. Regarding Fricke vs Doyle, only one of them showed they can still challenge and made it to the GP final this year, and it wasn't Fricke.
  13. Could be told where to go next Season.Just taking the p#ss.Wonder if he is getting his wages paid yet in Poland.!!
  14. What, with all those weeks between March and September, surely it could never have been fitted in 🤪
  15. Who says the new blood isn’t good enough till it’s given a chance to see. Seeing the same old faces is a huge part of why the series has become boring. Thank god for Brady and Dan keeping it alive. As for Doyle , he was the new blood once . He hasn’t always been the rider he is today but he , sadly has become part of the furniture and won’t challenge at the top again. Fricke is ultra professional, as he proved last night whereas Dole and Brennan had different ideas last night. The series needs a recharge with some new riders , not same old same old again. In my opinion.
  16. Issue 26 published yesterday shows Dan switching back to reserve. Emil is still at the top of the averages.
  17. https://ekstraliga.pl/en/se/world-cup-in-warsaw It's been on here since 16/01/25.
  18. Sheffield lost the league championship the moment they didn't score enough points at Leicester on Monday. End of story. integrity /ɪnˈtɛɡrɪti/ noun - 1.the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. Seven Premiership teams signed up to ride this season, each of them knowing that a play-off would decide the league winner. It wouldn't seem very "honest" or "moral" to me that Sheffield be crowned champions despite losing in the play-offs. In fact, I'd say that's...the opposite.
