I can understand Oxford wanting to drop out of a league rather than doing all three, but I'm wondering, do Oxford fans approve of dropping out of Premiership and just doing Chmapionship, or would you have prefered to drop out of Championship and just entered Premiership?
-
Would also cost the club more as there will be bonus points with the 5-1 scenario whereas there wouldn't with 4-2's. We have a final that should have taken place in June (at the latest), contested by a team that got through because there were more points awarded in their group than the other groups and a team going through because they had 2 x 4-2's and another team had a 5-1 and a 3-3. Better not tell my fellow work colleagues that in the morning.
-
Because 2 4-2's are 2 heat advantages, and a 5-1 and a 3-3 is one heat advantage.
-
Of course they're of equal points value. That's why we need a tie-breaker. It's very simple that 2 heat advantages are numerically more than one heat advantage, and this ranks teams with a tied score. Just as simple as an individual meeting where 1,2,2,1,3 =9 is ranked better than 2,2,2,2,1 = 9 even though they're equal value. Just as simple as in football where until recently a team winning 2-0 and losing 1-3 were ranked better even though they're equal goals.
-
The scores over the 2 legs were of ‘equal value’ so they use heat advantages… are you thick ?
-
I'm not denying it's heat advantages, I'm not saying the rule isn't simple. I'm asking, why are two 4-2s better than a 5-1 and a 3-3 to decide a tie? Normally they are of equal value.
-
Tbf it is pretty self explanatory. Not sure why people are trying to make it complicated when it is one of the rules that isn't!
-
A familiar tale: 1. Speedway fans demand clear rule 2. SCB produce clear rule 3. SCB correctly apply regulation 4. Speedway fans winge 🫣
-
It's not a funny expression it's called maths! (mainly percentages)🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 Which i guess isn't your strong point as it has to add up to 100 which 60+60 does not! It would be 60/40 for future reference. Hope that helps you out! Yes it would also help us out if you sent Nagel to Wimborne as everyone else would be in a different Dorset town of Poole. ✌️
-
It is total heat advantages, if they were 4-2 or 5-1 or 5-0 or whatever doesn't matter. The score achieved doesn't matter. It is heat advantages, it cannot be any simpler than that.

Crazy to think that we had the Skybet Elite League, the top riders, a 10(!) team top division not that long ago really. It just so turns out that Terry Russell and co weren't quite the promotional gurus that Eddie Hearn is. Who could've guessed.
-
It's always in November - usually the 2nd week - to rubber stamp what has been discussed (and tentatively agreed) at their monthly meetings. Also each club has to submit its accounts and give its intention to run, and at what level, the following season. Their most recent meeting was last Tuesday in Barnsley(?) and I guess individual decisions about next season will depend on the final bottom line of each clubs accounts and/or what additional financial carrots can be offered to any potential Premiership clubs?!
-
Speedway and logic.No such thing.
-
Whatever Workington race in next season I will support which choice they make even if it is the National league.
-
I agree wanting the second leg at home could be beneficial from that point of view, no advantage over 30 heats (unless it's a tie). A good away performance could mean a big crowd. Only danger is having a 30 point away loss, meaning a poor home crowd.
-
3-3 is a draw
-
Can someone explain the logic behind the rule. If most heat advantages decide the tie, what's the reasoning behind two 4-2s being better than a 5-1 & a 3-3?
-
I think having the 2nd leg at home is all about being able to celebrate the aggregate win in front of the home fans - assuming you do actually win it of course!!😉
