Leicester v Kings Lynn 03/09/26 7:30pm
Pinny replied to 40-38's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Lynn not for the first time have a side that looks great on paper but falls short. Is Lyon a good a manager as what people say? Lets be honest, he done well with them in the old Premier League but some of the teams built it would of been hard not to do well they were that strong. Since rejoining the top division, they have been nearer the bottom than the top most of the time and mainly under Lyon's management. The sad thing is the stadium, from what I remember, was more than decent for a speedway stadium, good fanbase and large crowds. With the right management it should be a thriving club. -

People need to drop the idea of hosting any important meeting at Belle Vue. I have seen people suggesting every important meeting in the British calendar should be held there. The crowds for second tier pairs, fours or riders championships there would be rubbish. - Today

Stewart Dickson confirmed at Leicester on Thursday on the microphone before the match that it will be 1st vs 4th on first 21st then 2nd vs 3rd on 24th and same way round the following week. All should be confirmed early next week ( Think he meant Thursday) Unless any last minute deals done very unlikely though, play offs will be on BSN not on mainstream TV which is disappointing and Leicester are looking at best guest options but complicated due to outstanding matches (Before tonight’s meetings ) as some riders averages may change which would rule them out of guesting on play offs for Leicester

Here we are again year in, year out, and the fingers firmly pointing at the wrong people. Not a single rider can be or should be blamed. They do not pick themselves. This is all on the management 100%. They sign them, choose riding order, refuse to sack them when it's deserving. King's Lynn is a pocket money holiday club for rider's that can earn without consequences & become more attractive to better clubs in 2027. Any rider with any standards is only picking King's Lynn when nothing else is available. -

Mathematically no, realistically, it was done weeks ago. Ipswich have Sheffield (h), Belle Vue (h) Leicester (a). That could easily be 0pts. King's Lynn have Leicester (h), Northampton (a). That should be 3pts at Northampton but it absolutely won't be. The bonus points could be huge in the run to 4th place. -

But you forgot that could be another nites accommodation to stay over for a meeting on Sunday more expense over what is not a cheap few nites away, after a weekend in Manchester or people need to get home for work / school on Monday -
His total loss of form is a strange one.🤔Pressure of being a Tiger maybe.
-
Four points needed. Any kind of victory home to Sheffield and Belle Vue next week will seal it regardless what Lynn do in their last two meetings.
-
You might not like him, You might note rate him. But i doubt slagging him off will improve his performance perhaps a bit of support might.

Has the BP clinched the playoffs for the Witches?

Hold it the day after the British SGP , 2pm start as in parade at 1:45 first heat 2pm, no delays as theres a queue etc. Crack on with the meeting, barring any major incident you could get it over and done with in 2hrs. Those who attended the GP and staying locally are fairly likely to watch the meeting before travelling home, daytrippers know start time and that they stand a chance of getting home at a reasonable time. If riders have Polish commitments, run without them, or run some form of the 4TT instead. You have a stadium with a fairly large number of possible spectators staying in the area and Manchester having good transport links -
It’s always a balls up at the end of season with riders and fixtures. The whole sport is a joke.

All over for Lynn now in playoffs. Despite Ipswich losing at Northampton they get the bonus point by winning on aggregate by one point. -

Belle Vue for the pairs would not draw much of a crowd, it needs to be at a PL track to make it financially viable. A reasonable turn out last night considering the weather conditions. -
Its time the Promoters got their acts together, its been a fragmented season with teams going 3,4,5 weeks without a fixture. The hottest summer for ages and we cant fit in a few fixtures over this period. If this happens next year , only 1 Home,1 Away am done going to watch, its like a new season every time you go to a match with the fixtures spread out. If a Promoter cannot fit in 11 matches in 20 weeks of a season, there's a major problem with British Speedway.

Another muck out needed at Lynn. First time for years the team get a decent number one and he underperforms. Cook can’t replicate is form from Poland. Kvech getting worse and Harris not having a good season either. Carrying too many passengers. -

To be honest, i dont think you can have Coops, Jody and Jordan all in your team. We couldn't make it work this season with a genuine number 1 in the team. But Kvech, Bomber and Cook need to go, and there will be a few teams after Max now his average has dropped. Who know what next season will bring. -

Paid to watch the stream tonight - what a waste... How can a team who, on paper look pretty decent, be consistently failing to deliver on the track. With the way Cooper has improved this year we really should have been in the mix nearer the top end of the league, not scrapping to sneak into 4th, which on this performance is gonna need a miracle of biblical proportions -
Not blaming the riders or families here . It's more of most fans are fed up of the big gaps between fixtures so these events can be attended by UK and European riders, then fixtures are rescheduled and low and behold it's a guest fest . It's time them in charge of UK speedway ran without large gaps in the summer, guest fest or not

Crowds Speedway Can Only Dream About
Hawk127 replied to dontforgetthefueltapsbruv's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Just look at the event from the 10th to the 13th September at the Northampton track and see how the whole period is organised with the punters in mind whereas speedway is organised around the participants and the punters are not even considered. Agree that the drivers pay to compete but you give a good few hours of entertainment that appeals to a whole range of ages and Spedeworth go out to treat the punter to an event. Speedway does not even come close in this country and until the views of the a few change and the promoters get an idea of what it takes to promote, it will continue to attract less and less punters. Speedway is not value for money from an entertainment perspective and is run by fickle promoters who have fickle riders who dictate what when and how things go on in terms of the track. I would rather pay £20 on a banger/stock car meeting knowing it will be on then rock up to a track for speedway only to find that a cat has pissed on bend four and it is not suitable for racing according to the riders. Chalk and cheese when it comes to entertainment and value for money, hence the only speedway worth watching at this time is the Polish scene who know how to put on a meet. -

Well thats 3 points on the board from the first 3 races -
Nothing new regarding Fixtures it's shambles again and getting worse every season. Teams should be forced to run on their reserved night if these clashes arise.Honestly don’t think would effect crowd levels significantly.
