Why?
-
I think we can forget about Eastbourne any time soon !
-
So any guesses on the remaining 4 riders to sign for Redcar for the 2027 season that will be revealed at the Xmas PArty on the 5th December ? Most people have this septet down as the likely team 1 Charles Wright © 8.68 2 Jake Mulford 5.13 3 Jason Edwards 6.28 4 Jody Scott 6.00 5 Danny King 7.76 6 Ace Pijper 4.15 7 Charlie Southwick 2.00 40.00
-
Senna Summers rides Sandy Lane better than Max Perry, other than that I’d be happy with that lineup
- Today
-
"Worst team on paper ?" easy Phil nobody knows what Lynn and Northampton are going with yet let alone Eastbourne who will need Tolley's millions if they are coming into the fold.

It helps a great deal when you are not forced to make changes due to the rules, something Belle Vue have had to do year on year whereas Ipswich only once at the start of ‘26. Considering the amount of changes the witches have made when not required compared to the few The Aces have made out of necessity I cannot say continuity is a word I would associate with the witches. There was the Covid year when Ipswich signed Jason Crump on an 8.21 average but as the season never happened it was carried over to 2021. When Louis saw his team didn’t fit he went to his cartel buddies and had Jason’s average changed to 8.00 rather than re jig his team as others had to. 😡 The only time recently that Belle Vue could have remained unchanged the cartel altered the limit forcing us into our regular change. https://ipswichwitches.co/2020-witchesjason-crump/ https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/p21_issue_1.pdf

Respect to Mark for the continuity, I just thought you'd make at least one more change in the 1-5 to bolster the spearhead.
-
Which would defeat the object of having them wouldn't it?.... If all you are doing is letting them ride against lesser riders it just says it isn't fit for purpose... If the aim is to make the top two tiers clearly different in standard, using the RS scheme in the top tier simply won't allow that to happen..
-
Id go for loftus as RS, although personally id scarp it all together till we have a bunch of riders that are ready, throwing these lads in this season will do more damage than good, unless they change the race format and they only face reserves and 2nd strings
-
Great 1 to 5, so much pressure on the reserves. If it faces the expected Poole team and other teams that are strength in depth it will be an intriguing matchup, not so much pressure on Masters and Brennan as Killeen and Howarth will certainly back them up

The jump has always been pretty big but the dropping of minimum average to 2.00 has seen a lot given places / chances that wouldn't have been if it was 3.00. The reality is the gulf between the top at bottom at CL has been to high for a while, 10 point and 2 point riders in the same race is always going to create a big disparity...doesn't mean i know what the solution is though -
doesn’t leave much for the no 6. rising star position will be interesting too. Initial thoughts were hodder due to his links with the previous NDL team but with his recent leg injury will anyone take that risk?

I like the sound of Flint and Thompson leading the line. I think there’s a lot of potential there and significantly more to come. Both continuing their development in the Premiership and abroad can only benefit us. -
I still hope so. I see a hunger and potential in him.

Just like Tom Brennan...? 😁 "Supported his career" over two whole seasons ..?😄

Now that Tom has confirmed he is having double surgery this winter to remove metal work from both legs could this have played a part in Mayfields decision not to renew his contract. Concerns over fitness and all that. -
Same as Ipswich with continuity 2023 Doyle Emil King Thompson Rew All part of the team in the 2024 cup winning side and then 4 of them in the title winning side … Jenkins and Edwards also in the team in those seasons as well Ellis was sacked by Sheffield so we didn’t have to do any poaching and Brennan needed to leave a club that was not paying its riders after Belle Vue showed him the door…. We couldn’t keep Rew after he demanded pay the same as Doyle and Ipswich won’t overpay for a rider Continuity isn’t always possible as Belle Vue have found before with Lidsey and Brennan Shame with what happened at Ipswich at the end of 2025 otherwise Doyle and Ellis would have still been in the side … Dan Thompson was already going to Leicester as he had a sponsorship deal Ipswich couldn’t match Now we have to rebuild after a season of just staying alive so hopefully moving forward Bewley and Cairns if they sign will be part of Ipswich for years to come

Emil has renewed his contract in Denmark. I think that rules him out not because of rule but because he is happy only doing Poland & one other league. From what he said during his time at Ipswich about spending time with his family I really can’t see him doing Poland on a Sunday the Uk on a Monday/Thursday & Denmark on a Wednesday. I’d have him back at Ipswich in a heartbeat. -
AGM / 2027 UPDATE (23 October)

Actually, small private limited companies like the BSPL do not have to hold an Annual General Meeting at all (unless their articles actually stipulate the need for one). If you did have an independent management committee they would have to report to somebody and that somebody would be the BSPL. It is very conceivable that the plans for next season have indeed (and hopefully) been discussed during the past months but there is no beneficial reason or requirement to inform others until all matters are in place.
