  1. Past hour
  2. John will be turning in his grave at the way CL has handled this. Another opportunity to use the local media to the Witches advantage lost. What has become of Ipswich Speedway that for so long has been a big part of Suffolk sport with a rich heritage of home grown riders and a management team who were true Suffolk folk. Yes things move on and new blood is needed to take the sport forward but the link between local home grown riders and local folk is now gone. Another chapter but hopefully not the final one. A question mark sits against Mayfield as to whether they have understood on the broader picture what they are/have bought into given the inept promotional structure and the lack of vision by too many self interested parties who have spent too many years failing to deal with the here and now. The corporate philosophy of Mayfield may well be the down fall of the league in the UK. Time will tell and we can only hope that they can overcome the obstacles and influence the future direction of the sport otherwise it is curtains.
  3. I predict a riot or it goes ** up 😧. Oops already gone ** up so where do we go from here šŸ¤”
  4. Bring yer torch if it's a cloudy day šŸ˜œšŸ™ƒ
  5. The obvious solution to rider averages for this season would have been to combine NDL and NDT averages from 2025. Not rocket science to do.
  6. Today
  7. Simpson is an anomaly really on an extremely high average. Mainly due to him riding such few NL meetings, before not riding again last season. But fair play to KL for giving Simpson a team place. He’s clearly the type of rider the NL is designed for, but he must’ve been worried at that average.
  8. I gather Jacob would be re-assessed as a 6.00???
  9. League Table: 1. Sheffield ā€˜Tigers’ 2. Belle Vue ā€˜Aces’ 3. King’s Lynn ā€˜Stars’ 4. Leicester ā€˜Lions’ 5. Ipswich ā€˜Witches’ 6. Northampton ā€˜Make up the Numbers’ Play-Off Semi Winner King’s Lynn ā€˜Stars’ Grand Final Winner Sheffield ā€˜Tigers’
  10. Regarding Northampton's possible fan base, you may get some banger/stocks fans attending? Much of it will be down to the efforts by the promotion.
  11. Thorsell has had offers from both Ipswich and Northampton, not sure if he’s agreed a deal with either though, but info was he wants to ride in UK in 2026
  12. Ideally, they'd pick the other 4 PL clubs off one by one, cut the train wreck that are the other promoters adrift and go their own way with the future of Speedway while the other clubs continue to run themselves into the ground following their business as usual model.
  13. Reds are reportedly using their lights in the new stadium so I was informed by someone well connected with the club. I believe Comets will be installing floodlights but nothing has happened to date. There are 7 weeks untill the first home meeting . The clocks go forward on 29th March. The reported sunset time on 4th April the date of our first home fixture is 7-52pm .
  14. A reincarnation of Allied Promotions perhaps?
  15. Another point which I suspect and I have been told it too is that it is mayfield putting the money up for this too aswell as Ipswich so what if they do lose their arse on Northampton Where does that leave Ipswich ?but then again if Northampton fails so too will the premier league
  16. Well it’s a good job that they have been announced early and have been heavily promoted and already have advertising around the area so as the potential fans are aware that a new speedway team is coining to town and you can already get any club merchandise ready for their first meeting in 5 weeks time šŸ™„
  17. Remember poor old Terry Chainey trying to make Milton Keynes work in the 80's
  18. And the ā€œunsinkableā€ Premiership decided they didn’t need their own …
  19. Think we’re up to a couple of hundred attending now just need another 1000.šŸ¤”šŸ‘
  20. This is all part of the Paramount proposed takeover of Warner Bros etc, hence the re-brand or renaming of various channels. They want to rival Netflix!!
  21. Good question there might still be a few around - there is a good catchment area around Northampton near the M1 easy to get to near Northampton as well compared to the club I used to attend kings Lynn who has the sea one side of the town Northampton is central with a massive catchment area the only thing they don’t have is hard core loyal fans that attend come what may and that’s a massive miss .
  22. I know my stuff, right about Poole and Glasgow, Tottenham to be relagated, pigs seen flying, Starmer develops a knowledge of politics....
  23. This side don’t bode well for honours. I can see changes are going to be needed very soon once a new set of average are released. Hope I’m proven wrong.
  24. I get the impression he's a bit "neurologically different" as i think the correct expression is these days. I doubt he'd have achieved what he has, and rebounded from so many setbacks, and maybe be as sweary, if he wasnt built a bit that way
  25. Anglia news tonight mentioned the club takeover and stated a full announcement will be given in 2 weeks
