  1. Past hour
  2. Clubs and riders tend to have their own web sites to sell their own merchandise
  3. Redcar are at home on Sept 20 and 26 so undoubtedly wouldn't want another home meeting the following day, nor the 27th. Sept 30 may be embargoed due to SON in Poland ( Sept 30 to October 4) crazy but would also explain why Sunday October 5 is the first available date.
  4. Spring races were introduced at the beginning of this season... why ? ... to stop Zmarzlik winning the 6th. Also, everyone knew them as part of the new scoring system. Zmarzlik proved to be faster there than Kurtz. You better ask yourself by what kind of "rule" Kurtz got direct place in the final instead of Lebedev who beat him in heat 17
  5. Also 2 factors stock cars have in their favour are: don't think events are rained off (happy to be proven wrong) & almost guarranteed on-track entertainment, esp 'demolition derby'-style races. Never been to watch stox either, keep meaning to pop along to Scunny one time I'm told by those in the know I'd love it, but like with speedway much of this year, the trick is / was finding the time. Life does tend to get in the way of such things a wee bit....
  6. Well here goes the way forward for Speedways Future if anyone their is listening or interested. Yes this has been posted everywhere but will it make a blind bit of difference for the future or will it be the same old.💩 1. Leagues to be run on the Danish system of 5 rider teams with maximum of 1 GP rider per team. 2. Each team to name a squad of 6/7 riders. 3. Teams to run on their preferred night and if rider/riders are unavailable, National League riders to be drafted in. 3a. No guests under any circumstances, redeclarations allowed once per month. 4. North League; Belle Vue, Sheffield, Berwick, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Redcar and Workington. South League: Poole, Ipswich, Kings Lynn, Leicester, Oxford, Plymouth and Scunthorpe. 5. Teams having National League teams to stage meetings after main meeting with same format as Danish system. 6. Teams not having National League teams to stage second half with minimum of 6 heats. 7. North and South winners and second places to meet in semi finals and final. 8. League cup to consist of all teams and drawn in first round with 1 from North and 1 from South. Overall winners of each match through to quarter final with team losing with highest aggregate score to go through also. This is all fantasy, but something needs to be done now. Everyone to look at the big brighter future and get over themselves.
  7. All in all a total of 34 shareholders in this venture.
  8. They did say they were having the SWC in May at Warsaw, which sounds like the biggest 'I'll believe it when I see it' yet.
  9. Today
  10. That may be true but it's also true that the speedway generates far less income for the promoters than stocks. When you hanged less money it's much more difficult to spend on increasing the entertainment. I don't think better racing is the answer at all.
  11. Well, that GP had a flat finish! For me Kurtz deserved the title by beating Zmarlik on so many occasions, 5 GP wins in a row was awesome. That one piece of bad luck in Prague may play on his mind but it didn't seem so. You could argue it was poor preparation or that the bike got into on a position to cause the chain failure but I consider it bad luck. Who knows, if that hasn't happened he may not have won all those GP's but he couldn't have done any more.
  12. I don’t get all this if there was more speedway at weekends more would attend. If you make the product & the competition’s something that appeals to the public then they would attend whatever night it was on. Ipswich have always ran on Thursday nights & have always historically & currently attract some if not the best uk crowds for speedway. The product & value for money is the biggest driver.
  13. In the ideal world nationality should not come into it when qualifying for the GP series, if you are good enough then the rider lines up but then it would mean having to qualify every year without the need for Wildcards.
  14. One thing that seems to be very quiet is discovery over next year, venues, dates, have they announced anything regarding next year ?
  15. It's interesting this year (or should be) because you'd expect Fricke, Vaculik, Doyle, or Thomsen/Michelsen to get them, but I'm not sure they will. Fricke is nailed on obviously, but will Doyle be when there are 3 other Aussies. Same as Thomsen/Michelsen when you already have Madsen/MJJ. I think Vaculik just about deserves one more season. That then leaves a nice Emil/Artem shaped gap...alas...
  16. Only rider who deserves a wild card is laguta who was robbed of defending his title by the woke tossers that are the FIM
  17. After the complaints about Kurtz and Bewley on Thursday night, it was good to see Fricke and Holder on Saturday prioritising their Prem SF commitments 😉
  18. Line-ups Tarnow 9 Szczepaniak 10 Gorzkowski 11 Bowes 12 Levishyn 13 Lahti 14 R Kowalski 15 Heleniak 16 Lodz 1 Lyager 2 Zagar 3 Wojdylo 4 Andersen 5 Chmiel 6 Buszkiewicz 7 Orgacki 8
  19. Final 1st Smederna v Vastervik line-ups- live on Premier Sports 1 Smederna 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Vastervik 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
  20. I thought he was 78! His contacts (however old) in Professional Football and Horse Racing should be a valid opportunity to develop some serious financial partnerships. Both those sports are 'swimming in money', littered with sponsorships and are also 'media-savvy'. Should be interesting......
  21. So your telling me there’s no dates up until then that are free!!!
  22. Doyle has had many wild cards now and is always missing injured, and there are 3 Aussies ahead of him so I think his time is up IMO. Max Fricke is a given and only missed out on the points system (the old format he would have been 7th over Lambert) Then there’s the conversation around Martin Vaculik who had a massive fall off this year but has been a consistent rider for the last 6+ years so I think he deeerves one also. I’d give one to Laguta if the powers that be finally have some sense. I’d love to give one to Emil but I believe we are starting to see him past his best. then I believe the SGP2 champion should be an automatic qualification. So if there is four (dependant on SEC), I would like to see: Max Fricke Martin Vaculik Artem Laguta Nazar Parnitskyi
  23. Yes I agree 100%. Last was typical of Morris and co in how they do their business. After every block of rides out comes the watering can. Regardless how good or bad the racing has been. You can bet your bottom dollar, the poor riders who have to go out after watering are in a lottery. Wroclaw being a fine example. Good racing on a dry track week in week out yes, slick sometimes, but at least it's a fair playing field. Come the GP and the track didn't even remotely look like Wroclaw. The FIM, rather than play about with scoring system and introducing silly sprint races, should concentrate on what Morris has been doing all season, which is f**k up good speedway tracks!
