  1. Past hour
  2. Warner Bros got involved in Speedway, realised it was a complete basket case and promptly exited stage left.
  3. Best to keep it that way tbh as your feathers would only get ruffled again.
  4. Yep - if it's Mayfield then it has comparisons to Reading and Posselthwaite, look how that ended up.
  5. Is that a reference to Sudden Sam? šŸ˜† If it isn’t then that’s gone over my head. Think the majority do it voluntarily don’t they? Just expenses here and there.
  6. It’s got to be a positive with Mayfield getting involved. As the GP rights holder they know for that to work league speedway has to be more than just Poland. Hopefully in a year or two British speedway will be in a far better position
  7. Whoever it is I hope their salary is not big šŸ™‚
  8. Is he going to retire because he has no PL team?šŸ¤”šŸ˜
  9. Did someone not ask him when the season is starting.
  10. I've looked on their website... we've been here before with BSI, they got involved when British Speedway was in a far healthier state than it is today and were soon gone, they'll only encounter the same issues that they and Chris Louis did.
  11. Did someone not ask him when the season is starting.
  12. Is he pleading poverty? I haven't read it
  13. Which is the 3 round World Championships. The 16th rider in each round will be the local wildcard rider.
  14. See what Input Mayfield are bringing this year. Let’s be honest the only way now is up.
  15. Pre-Christmas rumour was the Wolves Trio and it's still possible, Just without Becker. One half of Team GB's Managers working with 2 of the eventual 4 Team GB World Cup Squad is also very likely imo and it's beneficial for Team GB as a whole if Olly Allen can work with Tom Brennan in the run-up to the World Cup. I'm not sure where Pete lives but Wolverhampton to Ipswich would surely be about a 3 hour journey where's Olly Allen is a Norfolk lad isn't he?
  16. I wonder if Mayfield are looking into the future and wanting to bring bigger and better events to Foxhall Stadium due to its capacity
  17. Think you should do a little more research. As far as a British Speedway club ownership goes, it’s pretty huge. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if they don’t just stop at Ipswich in the near future either.
  18. I wonder if Mayfield are looking into the future and wanting to bring bigger and better events to Foxhall Stadium due to its capacity
  19. Hence why I refused to criticise Chris Louis throughout the sale process despite how frustrating it's been this winter due to a lack of news. It was always worth giving Chris the chance to stay true to his word.
  20. Why exactly do you think it's huge? If it is Mayfield, they are very much an unknown quantity in Speedway, so far all they seem to have done is reduce the SGP prize money. I'm not sure what their credentials are other than a number of impressive brands logos on their (last time I checked) website (and no real mention of how they are involved with those brands)... and with no mention of Speedway.
  21. Wonder who the new team manager is. I’d heard Olly Allen was a contender just before Christmas, but others have heard more recently that it could be Peter Adams.
  22. Line up for World Ice Speedway Cup:
  23. You do realise giving them a pass for their incompetence does exactly that, to be honest I’ve got no skin in the premier game anymore, I will attend more polish matches than premier league this year but that more to do with no home track than the state of the sport,if I do any regular speedway it will be at Buxton, so really I’m sort of past caring what the premier do but whatever the outcome the bspl and speedway futures has treated the fans with absolute contempt and don’t deserve any support
  24. That all but confirms Mayfield Sports are the new owners. That’s pretty huge and Louis has played a blinder there to be fair. I get you’re frustrated, everyone on here has been. But they released their AGM statement confirming five clubs, and talks were ongoing to grab a 6th. They’ve clearly been waiting on both Ipswich, and getting Northampton up and running. But until those two get completed, what can the BSPL say in the meantime? I get it. We all want regular updates, but if there’s nothing further to report then it’s pointless them coming out with a weekly ā€œupdateā€, that the update is there’s no further update!
  25. Charles Wright's interview in the Speedway Star will be worth a read.
