  1. Today
  2. So, a young British kid (once again), goes from being a future World Champion, to being just another overrated rider... And. All in one meeting!!!!😁 Hyping these kids up does no one any favours, yet plenty seem to do it... "I watched him ride after the match and his times were close to those in the meeting itself"!! Was one particular pearl of wisdom I read about him about 18 months ago.. Riding on your own, without three far more experienced riders nailing you on turns one and two is a bit different from riding on your own, and your times , and finishing positions, in those races will get hit quite severely... Being fast is one thing, being a Speedway rider is another... Let the kid develop at his own pace, like all should be allowed to, as the entry level for UK riders is quite a low bar, therefore one or two can look "amazing" when riding against their peer group at 15/16... If these lads are Championship second strings by the end of 2027 then they are on track to become Premiership second strings, around two years later, (at 20/21 years old).... If they reach that level, then by 23 or so, Premiership HL and International level will be there "glide path"... Not many are Woffinden, Bewley or Robert Lambert level by 21 years of age, so just let these lads develop... And the aim isn't to have future World Champs, the aim is to fill team spaces with UK lads, something the sport desperately needs...
  3. Great night for Leon Flint at Belle Vue, top scoring for Sheffield, only 1 duff race. I think this is the year that Leon takes a step up, similar to what Dan Thompson did last year, maybe not achieving an 8 plus average but definitely consolidating heat leader status.
  4. The most recent one I remember was Kyle Bickley at the same age being highly rated in the under 15s and national league etc. fancy van and kit and ended up doing nothing. Kennett at 16 was a far bigger talent, ripping up the old Premier League for Rye. Then you had Olly Allen, Simon Stead, Chris Neath, Andrew Appleton, Ross Brady plus more all far better at 16 than Cairns. be fair to give him the season to see how he goes but so far it looks like hes just another over rated young British rider. Not his fault but the usual suspects for over hyping him.

  6. Haven't seen him on a speedway bike but I know a few days ago he posted a picture of his bike and he captioned it "ready for testing"

  8. I believe that Papa Cairns has splashed the dosh, way too much, way too soon. Will has to do the hard yards and stand on his own two feet and develop at his own pace. Fancy vans, top engines, belt drives, Karger ignition boxes handed on the solid silver plate is a false dawn. Needs to work on his talent not his gear. He is talented.
  9. Yesterday
  10. Also cairns has had a growth spur in the tail end of last season which won't help when most riders are not big these days
  11. Ive seen a lot worse, if that is a boring match at bv
  12. Cairns has been hyped up massively over the last 2 or 3 years but its clear to see he is out of his depth at this level. There has been many, many better British teenage prospects over the years than him.
  13. Thought Leicester's main footie rivals was Coventry City ...
  14. Absolute garbage which is unusual for Belle Vue Belle Vue same old story will often win at home but lose away Unsure why they went for cairns while currently Mulford is a better rider
  15. Remember one Good Friday doing 11:00 at Kings Lynn, 15:00 at Arena Essex and 19:45 at Hackney - around 1985 if memory serves me well
  16. Top performance from Tate tonight ! Best in BV colours to my knowledge good to see we all know he’s got the talent . Got a feeling Cookie is going to be fighting for the number 1 spot this year. Can’t wait for the season to start now .
  17. Agree he’s done a good job for us mainly solid scorer home and away for us, capable of beating anyone too.
  18. If this was 2012, Northampton would be title contenders.
  19. All tracks can serve up dull meetings even the best ones like the NSS especially early in the season. You’ll get more entertaining ones than dull ones around there though over the course of the season.
  20. The rest, how many of the rest are not doubling up these days.Even the reserve are in NDL and they are not doing that for nothing these days.
  21. LCFC & Forest in different divisions and likely to continue for a few more seasons so no local rivalry (fiction or otherwise) for some time to come.
  22. Scoreline pretty close but racing nearly sent me to sleep...🥱
  23. Quite right with the Ipswich situation the league was in serous doubt - but it is good we have 6 teams in the PL to moan about in 2026!
  24. Be good for a wheelie contest 😜
  25. this season is a little weaker as we are missing some top line names so riders like Lidsey and Tom Brennan have their chance to step out from the shadows of riders like Doyle and Emil etc
  26. I know, just looks so sorry such a shame
