But will need the promoters to be looking forward and working together behind the scenes to ensure it happens and continues to evolve. let the track action be the place where the competition between promoters exist - not in the board room.

A shame we are so weak tonight. Harrison for Cook is not good. Wood, well the lad is a tough guy but will he threaten the scorers? Think we will come up short after last nights lethargic performance. Will be watching as always.

Financially Speedway is about as far away from being transparent as you could get. Speedway clubs running as private limited comapanies are classed as micro entities ie small businesses. The accounts are abbreviated and unaudited as far as I understand it so they tell the lay person virtually nothing. There is no itemised income v expenditure breakdown. The lay person knows nothing and can't find out much about a clubs finances including, how much is raised in sponsorship, gate receipts, parking, programmes, food and drink as income streams or how much expenditure in the form of insurance, rent, rider wages ( rumoured to be too high at Championship level with current crowds ) medical cover costs, tyre costs and anything else I have missed. All in all it is about as transparent as mud. .

I agree the Tigers are not formidable this year, but every single rider has had a different 'wow' meeting and also a few rubbish ones. Mario has been knocked down in our most recent opening heats. Doubt that's helping his confidence or health much. Along with his partner the last few matches changing each week and them also scoring poorly. No 2 is notoriously a difficult situation for a new rider. But I do think he's a good rider and wholly expect him back next season. Mario going to reserve now should benefit him and us. Concerned by Sam's boom or bust form, which is not what we expected from him. Our overall lack of gaters was on show last night, thank goodness for KJP, Leon, Freddy and the titan that is Bomber. I hope Bomber stays a Tiger for years to come, guy is absolute box office. If we can get a decent replacement for Kyle, we will be fine for the playoffs and we'll see what happens then. No chance with R/R as there's too much of a risk if someone gets hurt or has on an off night. Need a reliable replacement. When your number one only scores 3, every team is likely in trouble unless reserves are flying. A point won for the Tigers last night.

for years British Speedway has been used as a training scheme for Australians on the way to Poland .come here as raw as an uncooked cabbage .attain a decent standard .then it's either off to Poland and F.U. or its Poland first and Ill dictate when and where I appear ... see you in a few years when I'm washed up and Poland don't want me. Ill be back to squeeze the last few quid i can get out of British speedway

Well I have to go with optimism, Pirates win. But have to admit Zac has been doing plenty of the heavy lifting for Poole this season and will be missed, but not as much as he would have missed last night. Wóod has gone well at the Collosium this year 7+3 so should be good value, Harrison hasn't been down there this year but has real quality, so yes I'm feeling optimistic.

Maybe, therefore, less is more?.. I remember the Stox at the old place, they ran around 10 meetings a year, and got 3500 to 4500, depending on the meeting level... The Aces ran around 3 meetings a month and got the same number as the Stox did with one.. But the Stox atmosphere and "experience" felt more like an "event".. Maybe less, but better promoted Speedway meetings, with tangible decent prizes, is the answer? Something to look forward to?... The reality is, if team Speedway ended tomorrow, by next Sunday, hardly anyone will care, and those 80 million or so who don't attend, with the vast majority of them not even knowing of its existence, won't even notice it has gone..
