  1. Past hour
  2. Appalling silence from BSPL so far. Hopefully they are taking due care and time over producing a statement. On the other hand, they could be either doing headless chicken or ostrich impersonations.
  3. If you force a team to go up and they decide not to run for a year rather than lose a fortune what then?
  4. So what happens if we get to January and there are still only 5 confirmed prem teams? Does the premiership have a year off? Is a team forced to move up against there will?
  5. I certainly got the impression he enjoyed his time at Peterborough.
  6. Yes if he would ride for rising star money because his performances during his stint in the uk just about warranted them
  7. If the Panthers run, I wouldn't be surprised to see Laguta back in British Speedway. He really enjoyed his time at Peterborough.
  8. Inevitable means certain to happen. So why not announce it then. The other problem with that plan is the current 5 premiership teams will have their teams sorted and that only leaves the left overs for the 6th club. But that's absolutely fine with Ipswich,Belle Vue, and Sheffield & Co isn't it.
  9. 1990/1991 close season was the beginning of the end of my love affair with speedway. As a NL fan, it was decimated by the Stewkesbury Plan and within 2 years, Milton Keynes, Mildenhall, Wimbledon and my own beloved Hackney had all bitten the dust. Apart from a few matches during the London Lions season of '96, i haven't regularly attended since and living just outside Bristol as I do now, I probably never will again, merely following the sport through this site and the updates for results.
  10. Today
  11. Well a number of people on here have mentioned about what is the point of clubs attending this event. From our perspective, our stall was very popular and was crowded pretty much all day. I practically lost my voice by the end of the day. A very large number of supporters from all over the country joined our monthly Forever Fund lottery, which has been set up not only to help with legal costs (contributed just under a third so far) but to assist us in the future. From that view it was massively worthwhile. If anyone on here wants to join, it costs £10 a month with cash prizes up for winning every month. Each month people receive a newsletter with results and details of companies nationwide offering discounts on products and services. Sarah Miles runs the fund, for more information about the fund or to join email panthersforeverfund@gmail.com
  12. That's not a definite. His Polish mechanic was quoted as saying that Tai was going to concentrate solely on Poland. However, just a couple of weeks later Woffy then said himself he hasn't ruled out racing in the UK next season, his phone is always on and is willing to talk.
  13. Just get a Bolt taxi from the app. Fixed price, cheap & no problems Don't take "normal" taxi's from airport.
  14. Exactly one of the reasons why no one will move up. A team of riders who other teams don't want. Great plan 🙄🙃 You'd think some of the Prem promoters would use their brain a bit more if they are desperate for a sixth team.
  15. I'm sure PREM Clubs have got deals done behind the scenes. Imo they're just waiting for the inevitable 6th PREM Team to be confirmed before signing announcements are made.
  16. Some sequences from a couple of meetings, versus Wimbledon and Newcastle it seems. Ivan Mauger features prominently.
  17. I only really suggested Scunny because he is BSPL Chairman. I have no knowledge of his financial situation.
  18. Yesterday
  19. Can't see any being daft enough to be honest. Long history of teams stepping up not being allowed to build a competitive team. Poole and Oxford are the only clubs with a history of rivalries in the top division. Oxford probably had enough of being the Premiership punching bag. Poole have knocked it back due to race night and other issues. Any Northern team (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Berwick, Workington) would lose any sort of local derby, and all are weekend tracks for good reason. I cannot see Redcar or Plymouth going up and staying in business. Scunthorpe would at least have some local matches against BV and Sheffield but I cannot see it without massive outside investment to cover huge losses. I don't want to see the Premiership fail, but I can't see a Championship promoter sacrificing their club to save it.
  20. Never a truer word spoken by an ex Promoter. That is what I was trying to say in an earlier Post.
  21. They were filming for King Cinder when Teesside Tigers visited Hoddesdon. 22nd May 1977. During the 2nd half. Us Tigers fans. Were asked by the Production Company. To wave "Barton Barons" banners. Happy memories.
  22. I wasn’t on this week so not sure but I think it was episode 3 of 3, haven’t had chance to listen yet but we talked about it on our what’s app group in the week
  23. Whoever it is there will have to be a huge carrot dangled infront of them and unless either tv deal or betting deal or sponsor deal on the table that ain’t happening
  24. Link? The one above? What episode number is that? 29? Not available on Spotify yet. I'll give it a listen
  25. This one? Something about not definitely yes but not a definite no. Sounds like they are looking into it. Interesting to hear that their crowds are the same whether it's championship or premiership.
  26. What did he say then? I'm pretty sure I've listened to the recent podcasts and I didn't hear anything that made me think there was any chance of an imminent Panthers return and especially not in 2026, maybe I missed something 🤷‍♂️
