  1. Past hour
  2. Could be a figure of speech. I think you will find a lot of 23 years olds are still at home these days., unless they are lucky, and earn enough to be able to buy a house. With respect i doubt if Anders makes much from speedway at this time. But i could be wrong.
  3. Looking at our next excuse incase we didn’t win probably! Either way… Sheffield rode the track fine. Very concerning how slow Emil and Doyle were in heat 15 as well.
  4. These were not fixtures that were moved. The 2 unridden matches were scheduled for 28th August (Sheffield) and 4th September (Oxford) in the original fixture list. What were they supposed to do ? Look at the weather and say "oh look it's going to be sunny next Thursday, let's bring that Ipswich match forward a month in case it rains in late August" ? Blaming the clubs for the poor weather is laughable. If anyone is to blame it is the SCB/BSPA for issuing a fixture list with matches finishing just 4 days before the first scheduled playoff fixture, not the individual clubs. The original fixture list should have included a 1-2 week gap between last scheduled league fixture and first playoff to give a contingency period for any rescheduled matches.
  5. I think you can although based on previous years in the Prem and the Champ if its cold and wet you can discount Leicester. And if the play offs were at the start of August in all the sunshine they would have been unstoppable.
  6. And if they havent fulfilled their fixtures there should be a monetary penalty especially with the summer we have had weather wise.
  7. There are lots of differing opinions about Ipswich's loss last night, but the key thing for me is that they currently have no momentum and some riders look out of sorts. They really will need to do everything they can to keep it as close as possible, because BV's top 3 will be flying, so that's 30+ points in the bag already - If Cook is on it too then suddenly it's a mountain to climb. Should be a great couple of legs for the neutrals 🤪
  8. Today
  9. Yeah sorry my mistake, got figures mixed up .
  10. Correct i agree you could make a argument for all of them 🤔
  11. So the Polish teams, 8 of them says the post, only have 7 home fixtures from let's say April to September (24 weeks)???? My calculation has them with 17 blank weeks during Summer. How do they survive that ?
  12. You are absolutely right, to a point. There is no benefit to be gained by living in the past & indeed let’s embrace what we have. However, let’s also do what we can to ensure a future for the sport, and frankly, what’s now being organised & promoted could & should be improved in significant areas to give current & future supporters something to really enjoy.
  13. Any idea why Richie was sprinting across the track at the beginning of ht15? Seemed to be looking for something on the 2nd bend
  14. The match that hasn't been ridden was programmed for 28th August but it was rained off, so even if all other matches had been ridden this would still have missed your deadline. People are constantly blaming the clubs but does anybody know who actually sets the fixtures ? Surely this is done centrally by the SCB or whoever based on information provided by each club ?
  15. Plus they only meet once home and away which is a far better proposition.
  16. Just been catching up on these posts. Where on earth have you got the 200 crowd figure from ? I'm a regular and haven't seen any crowds at Northside that poor. Show me proof that I need to go to specsavers.
  17. Who ever does it is taking a huge gamble that probably has a 10-15% chance of working and they will need to be willing to drop six figures it just seems utter madness , we certainly need more tracks but if it was Louis this looks like the kind of experiment that would blow up massively and probably bring the witches down with it. If the stadium was in Coventry it would most likely be a goer but again start at Championship standard don't go all in on a huge gamble and the most expensive gamble of three options also.
  18. The play offs are wide open, it’s impossible to predict.
  19. I find it incredible that what is mean to be a Professional Sport they cannot even fulfil the fixtures before the Play Offs. That is the shambles the sport is nowadays, and they still expect new fans to come along and be impressed. Its a joke really.
  20. Doesn’t really matter between March 15th and August 31st is 24 weeks plenty of time to fit in 12 home league meetings. I am at a lose as to why year after year clubs struggle to make the deadline. Maybe the deadline should be August 31st.
  21. I'm not sure what table you are looking at, as the one on British Speedway shows Sheffield on 1127-942 and Ipswich 1123-947. In my calculations Sheffield are already 9 points in front.
  22. Aces already officially announced it's Aces v Ipswich
  23. Aces already officially announced it's Aces v Ipswich 🤔
  24. Totally agree with all the above. We are making far too many excuses for my liking as a witches fan. Moaning about weather changing the track, moaning about track prep (our problem not anyone else’s so just on with it) and keep using excuses of changing rider positions. This will come to bite us in the arse, ride your best riders in their best positions and build momentum, don’t keep p!sing about with it and wonder why we lose.
  25. I fully understand the team mentality. Admittedly I don't go every meeting, but Sheffield are still my team and I have been watching them for over 40 years. I am also a season ticket holder at my local football team so I know the hurt when your team doesn't perform, and expect that anger to flow on here. That wasn't the moaning I was talking about. It is the people who constantly complain about the way the sport is run, fixture planning, guest riders, playoffs, etc. It isn't the 1970s/1980s. The sport has changed and it is far better to embrace what you have and try to enjoy it, than spend all your time harking back to the good old days as they are never coming back.
  26. The lovely Cornish man who was a real handful on the track https://classicspeedwaymemories.webador.co.uk/september-2025/just-an-unlucky-lad
