I feel vindicated now - when he rode for Newcastle at Sheffield in about 2015 or 16 - he rode well but failed to beat Garrity who scored a max that night how there careers have diverged! I don’t think the locals i spoke with agreed with me that Lambert would be the better! congrats anyway - a British WC has to be celebrated - sadly both our last two haven’t always been entirely 💯 committed to the UK scene which maybe has a message for us all!

Anders Rowe is southern England (Swindon I believe) based. Would he want to travel 750 miles round trip every week for his home matches?

Great riders attacking tracks make good meetings - If Doyle were in the GP next year I can think of one rider who would really be entertaining sadly him and another master of Foxhall Emil probably won’t be in the series! I live in Sheffield I couldn’t be bothered to go to GP rounds as I felt they were over priced and the thought of parking etc at BV was a nightmare. Foxhall won’t be easy either so I hope they sort that out!

As a neutral I don’t give two tosses who wins the cup. I wanted an 8-10 point Berwick win to set it up nicely for the second leg. The fact that the meeting was poor entertainment with a drag race to the first bend made for finger in the fast forward button. For neutrals it doesn’t float our boats. As for the crowd it was good to see a decent crowd at Berwick. Must have been a thousand there at least.

Anyone have any figures on the crowd? Looked huge on BSN and from photos I’ve seen. When a crowd is that big, I’d have the number plastered all over the place! Well done to Berwick! As someone who just wants to see an entertaining meeting, I can't help but be disappointed at Ipswich replacing Belle Vue. Hopefully the track work will make a big improvement but maybe waiting a year to make sure that all went smoothly might have been better.

One thing Tatum and his sidekick overlooked (perhaps not surprisingly) is that last night was probably Freddie Lindgren's last ever GP. With Kim Nilsson in next year and no round scheduled for Sweden, little chance of Freddie getting picked.

Lindgren? If he wants one, he should be in. He'd have been comfortably top 6-8 if he'd been fully fit all season, and is still entertaining.

Neutral supporters always want a close result in the first leg, similar to BSN final as sets up second leg perfectly. Hope it doesn't affect Plymouth's crowd size too much. Though with it being final meeting, might be okay.

The top 7 are now decided and you can add Tungate Nillson Woryna and Lebedevs from the qualifier. Add Holder and Bewley leaves 2 places. The SEC winner is likely to be already qualified but there’s no entitlement for anyone rose from SEC to get a place so that leaves 2 picks. Not the Russians because of continuing contract terms so who else is worthy? Anders Thomsen maybe?

Bewley for sure, he showed last night that even when not 100% he can win races. Sadly you have to assume Monster riders will get a pick, even if they have not done enough. I am still not over the fact these people gave Woffinden a wildcard after his serious injury and relatively poor form for the previous two GP seasons, ruining the opportunity for another rider, perhaps a rider with a long term future in the sport.

Belle Vue should have both British rounds. Ipswich should be nowhere near a grand prix roster and certainly boring Glasgow shouldn't have a hope.

Would it have hurt you to congratulate Berwick on their win or are you still grumpy because the Bandits defeated the Pirates on the way to the final ?

Not meaningless if your a Bandits supporter,still have it to do.Anything can happen in Speedway.Bandits are certainly in a strong position though.King and Nichols were hugely disappointing considering there previous form around Shielfield where they we practically unbeatable.

This result was always likely to happen. Put a small track team with ageing riders against a big track team dialled in and it was pretty obvious what would be the likely outcome. King Barker and Nicholls are closer to their pensions than the start of their career in speedway. Reserves never stood much of a sniff against Battye who is dialled in like a heat leader. A shame the gap is that wide as it’s now a foregone conclusion and makes the second leg meaningless.
