I’m sure he would have been welcomed with open arms by the supporters 😂😂, I don’t want to cast aspersions but that’s twice if my mind isn’t playing tricks he should have raced down here and not turned up, poor chap i hope he gets better soon I’m sure he will be fit enough for Oxford/pooles next meeting

I mentioned on another thread I read an article on UK music festivals recently and outside of the ten massive events the rest are struggling with the article quoting a drop from an average of 1,000 events a year pre-covid to 500 ish now. The reasons quoted were just like speedway the same acts seen to often, cost of staging the events gone up massively since covid this led to large ticket price increases which punters no longer view as value for money, punters preferring events held in footy stadiums as better facilities than using blocked porta loos in fields. Stories from promoters who ran the events who had been making bigger and bigger losses year on year until they couldn't afford to continue.

Thanks for the reply it seems its the same story as most clubs ageing fanbase, cost of living, two many guests, more pull on the pound on your pocket from other leisure activites over the last 25 years.

It all goes back to the size of the prize... Crap racing or great racing? Both would get crowds if the competitions themselves held some enticement... Running a team sport with minimal jeopardy, consequence and rewards just gives an impression of going through the motions to put "some/any Speedway out", regardless of relevance, or credibility.... Promoters will then scratch their heads as to why fans (many of whom still closely follow the sport), are not engaged enough to bother visiting... "If the fans don't come then I will have to close" isn't a threat nowadays, given so many haven't got any emotional attachment to teams anymore, and what is served up isn't being missed one iota by these people...

Some riders just seem to get more grief than others... Which is strange, given these riders take up two team places that, otherwise, both their teams would struggle to fill with someone of their capability...

I think Redcar are stuck with Lambert, you’re not allowed to make team changes at this stage of the season apparently.Early finish to the season this year, disastrous team planning.
