  1. Past hour
  2. These type of meetings often produce some good racing, but the crowds don't seem to come and support them. At Workington for the U19 on Saturday some of the racing was the best it's been all season, but not a very big crowd
  3. Give over...........lots of teams take part in the full competition. Anyway wouldn't a speedway diehard like yourself enjoy seeing more teams face the Lions throughout a season?
  4. ITV showed England football, prime time, 5 teams in their league 😁
  5. Looks like the Ipswich faithful have other things to do tonight 😁 Is there a curfew at Ippo?
  6. But come on which TV Channel is going to televise a sport with 6 combatants in their league table - not really countrywide for them is it? So despite being told on here a one division of at least 16 teams won't work I bet the TV folk would prefer it.
  7. Not for us Poole fans, who were the paying customers last night. As I said earlier, I doubt a Poole fan left the stadium last night disappointed in the racing. It’s a final. It’s all about winning.
  8. About to stream on YouTube. Such a great lineup. 7.30 start time. 20 heats. bsn production.
  9. That would be great and I hope that they are being proactive and targeting them. At this point, I would think coverage is more important than any monetary gain.
  10. Today
  11. A Wembley football final is a neutral venue. In a 2-legged speedway final, the 2nd leg track has an advantage if it goes to a Superheat so the 1st leg track will do what is best for its riders to gain as big a points advantage as it can.!
  12. The issue is not necessarily track prep but speedway's business model. A home club has to pay the home teams point at home and the corresponding away fixture from the home meeting gate receipts. Therefore, it's paramount the home Promoter maximises the home gate income. From what I saw last night Poole achieved this.
  13. Channel 4 or 5 might be the best bet? They are both trying to expand their sports coverage.
  14. I was part of the consortium that tried to bring Eastbourne back and we looked at every league we could enter. Whilst for obvious reasons I can't say anything, it was a good amount. I do hope they can get another deal together but can't really see who with.
  15. I feel a pro final is about both winning and being entertained. A Wembley football final doesn't disadvantage one team by the direction the grass has been cut but Poole purposely disadvantaged Glasgow using track preparation. That promoter you mention was complicit in the reduced gate takings because he failed to put a team together that was capable of winning at home on a regular basis.
  16. Booked tickets , I'm coming up to cheer on the Tigers!! Its going to be tough but hey they will give it a good go.
  17. Glasgow could be fun. Went to the SGP Challenge a couple of years ago, sadly were a lot of crashes that night but otherwise a decent meeting. Family that run the club are awesome and it was a short trip into the center of town. Hear worse ideas. Bradford being one of them...
