  2. I could be wrong, but I believe, per the paragraphs below, that premiership teams need to have 2 x u21s at reserve next year. 1 must be British, the other can be foreign or British. (I've not seen an official BSPL announcement which will confirm either way, the quotes below are from a Polish announcement translated to English). Given the lack of foreign u21s riding in the UK in recent seasons, I am not convinced that there will be a queue, so I expect some teams may end up with 2 Brit u21s. If my understanding of the proposed new rules is correct then the teams need the u21 foreigners more than those riders need the UK teams, and a top Polish u21 rider is generally much further ahead in their development than the Brits are. If I was a top u21 rider, say 2026 u19 World Champ Kevin Małkiewicz, I'd be asking for heat leader money from UK teams. "From 2027, the rules for youth players in the top leagues in Sweden, Denmark, and the UK will also change. A team must include at least one domestic U21 player , while the other can be either domestic or international." "The changes to Under-21 rider regulations could also have an impact on team building, with clubs required to include at least one domestic U21 rider while having greater flexibility over the nationality of a second youth rider."
  3. Must confess, I am non plussed as to the end game for this rule re UK licenses... Several UK riders down the years have ridden on "foreign licences", Wigg, Cox and Smith being three that come to mind immediately... Lambert is living in Poland, has a Polish wife, and a child on the way, so could tick a few boxes for citizenship, particularly if his child is "Polish". (Torun would be pleased if he was a "home rider" I am sure), so maybe him getting a Polish licence wouldn't be too difficult, (or a German one!).. I am not sure the UK promoters realise that many "top riders" nowadays, don't need to ride several times a week anymore.. If you are getting a £250k signing fee and £2,500 a point, (that and more for the "true elite"), then riding one meeting every weekend in Poland and, (maybe) topping up your income on Tuesday in Sweden, is maybe enough?? Logistically the UK brings its own challenges with equipment needed over here, plus a mechanic, storage, flights etc, so not sure putting barriers up in any way shape or form is a great plan..
  4. What a night last night was. Awesome performance by the Aces, I was worried without PK, but the lads rose to the occasion, Kurtz and Doyle were at their brilliant best, but special mention for Tate who was once again superb, and Zach Cook who had the hardest job of the night and delivered in every race he was in, especially with his excellent heat 14 win. The atmosphere was electric, with nerves excitement and chanting from the Aces faithful. BV v Sheff matches always bring out the best in the fans from both sides IMO. Special praise for the track staff, after the terrible weather the track was in excellent condition, which was great to see. On to Friday now, Aces in the box seat, but cant be complacent, we need to continue how we rode last night and not think its won.
  5. If the rumoured two under 21's at reserve is true that would rule out Howarth.
  6. There was an interview with him maybe 10 days ago saying he’d had surgery at end of September and noticed more improvement in that short period than he had done in all the time since the accident, believe he said the nerve had become tangled so been released, hopefully he can now move forward with his recovery plans

  8. I don't see much change at the Tigers, I think Picko is going to be Sheffield's version of Danny King where he'll always be in the 1-7 even if fans are split on it. 1. J. Holder 2. ? 3. C. Holder 4. L. Flint 5. J. Pickering 6. ? 7. ?
  9. I'm not expecting them to but what an opportunity for Poole to get some positive publicity for a change!
  10. What about the Aussie Cooper Antonie he did well in SGP 3
  11. Any news on Jack is his hand injury making better progress ?
  12. Seems like a signing Eastbourne would make imo. Can't imagine any top end Club signing Kim on a inflated assessed averge imo.
  13. Think you mean 39.37 Cairns will be at Poole. Jody Scott one of the few riders Redcar fans want back. Freddy Hodder broke his leg beginning of this month, must be a doubt for start of next season. If you're looking for a 6 point rider more likely to be Tate Zischke

  15. If Glasgow didn't have a terrible guest at home in the league then they would have won that meeting rather than draw. Monarchs only ever lead by 4 at Armadale. Only Paco's showboating in heat 14 cost Monarchs the win. Admittedly Tigers were massively helped by a 15 point or is 19 point maximum from guest Nick Morris
  16. On the curb theme some moto gp circuits on some bend use what are called the "misano curbs"(named after circuit they were first used)which are curbs with slight corrugations enough to slow the riders down so no advantage can be gained but still stay safe, might not be feasible in speedway or might be worth thinking about, will require a massive leap for speedway to drag itself out of the 1950s tho!
  17. Tbf his first season of being this busy, so would be interesting to hear if he thinks it is too much racing or if he feels the amount is ok.
  18. It would be good to have some clarification of how the new Polish rider restrictions might affect riders in the Championship?! If I understand it correctly the new rules only refer to the 'top' leagues in each of the participating countries! So will doubling down still be a thing? Will Uk speedway (Prem and Champ leagues) count as just 'one league' as far as the new rules are concerned, or will it just affect the Prem? Will the Championship carry on as now with priority still given to the Euro leagues when fixtures clash on Tues, Weds, Fri/Sat/Sun?
  19. Steve? I notice he stopped updating about 3 weeks ago. Decidedly irritating.
  20. Top 2 in each team next season Belle Vue - Kurtz & Doyle Sheffield - J.Holder & Picko Ipswich - Bewley & Wozniak Kings Lynn - Fricke & Nilsson Northampton - Lambert & Lindgren Leicester - Douglas & Vaculik
  21. What team would Tigers fans like to see if their kevlars for the 2027 season? Think a couple of the play off legs have shown a few changes needed on top of the new team structure, 40 points team building with 1 x u21 from anywhere who can ride in any race number 1-6 and 1 x Rising Star with a Premiership average of under 3.5 If I was to be tempted back to going to Sheffield would love a team with a lot of racers not just gaters (have to have one though with Holder snr) 1 J Holder 8.75 2 A Bednar 5.00 3 C Holder 7.25 4 L Flint 5.98 5 R Lambert 7.62 6 K Howarth 4.63 (if un retires) 7 J Mulford R/S
  22. I remember travelling on a Sunday for Eagles v Pirates fixtures. Lunch in one of the local pubs, then a 3pm start (I think). Back home by mid-evening. Great days and good crowds I recall - or was that only because it was a local derby??
  23. Well this subject rumbles on, dispite the fact that the SCB have confirmed an excludable offence took place, and Poole are cheats 😜 I wonder if Matt Ford , middlo or Mr Shovler will make a statement 🤔
