I think what it showed, clearly, is that Leicester are the firm favourites for the title... Plucky Belle Vue will do their best as underdogs but it is so obvious that it is Leicester's to lose... Let's hope, for UK Speedway, that the Aces can at least keep it close if they meet in the final... š

Scunthorpe vs Redcar 24/7 live on BSN
Whitelinehugger replied to marko's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Lambert will ride like a dying duck in a thunderstorm -
SCUNTHORPE: Josh Pickering, Connor Mountain, Dan Gilkes, Michael Palm Toft, Luke Harrison, Ryan Ingram, Nathan Ablitt. REDCAR: Charles Wright, Simon Lambert, Jake Mulford, Jason Edwards, Jake Allen, Ace Pijper, Jody Scott. Im looking forward to the battles between Pickering and Wright and also i think Redcar might edge it at reserve, Allen and Lambert are ex Scorpions so i like think this will be a close meeting.

Why is speedway in decline?
RS50 replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
My thoughts on the decline. 1 Amount of entertainment per match. When I first started going, typically 21 races including 2nd half. Now it's 15. 2 Prices. Saw an article mentioning prices ( for a top division match) in the 80s. Had admission only gone up by inflation would about £9 adults, and £5 pensioners. Now more like £25/£23. This means the price per race has increased from around £0.43 to £1.66 for adults, and £0.24 to £1.53 pensioners. 3 Amount of time a meeting now takes. Seems to take longer now to do 15 races, than it did 21, many years ago. Recently went to Buxton. 3pm start, had hoped that all 15 main races and the extra MDL races would have been completed by 5pm. At 5.15, only 12 races had been completed, and they announced there would be an interval. At this point I left. Many followed. Some were departing as early as race 8. Will those people go back?. Simply taking longer to do less is not more entertaining. 4 "Gardening" at the tapes. Just boring to watch. 5 Dodgy call offs. 6 Lack of loyalty to long term fans. Seems to be some very good offers to potentially new and younger fans. All we regular fans seem to be getting is "the match has been called off" Someone is kicking a ball about/ there's something on the telly. We waited long enough for this year's fixtures, could at least try to stick to them. Not all speedway fans like football. Don't they matter? -
It's already extended and won't expire until mid August.

Premiership 2027 - Are You Interested??
Gasser90 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As much as Coleman speaks common sense Iām pretty sure any new promotors canāt say or do or vote on anything for at least 2 years ! Such has the man at the top got a hold over everybody and because they canāt vote that means they canāt vote to get him out either, even with Colemanās SGP power, when it come to British speedway. He canāt really do anything until Godfrey says he can after the 2027 season is finished -
You may mock, it's your right to do so but wait until the latest polish dictatorship of world speedway kicks in and the only riders left in this country will be very young or very experienced. The standards of the national league will be the norm.

Wonder if Doyle will carry on with Aces after his 28 day contract expires? Not much of an off last night, packed his bags and out of pits during meeting, not that heās any loyalty to Lemon or the Aces but if wasnāt something requiring medical/hospital attention riders usually stay in pits with their team mates. Suppose weāll see soon enough
