  1. Past hour
  2. But to me the race wasnt under starters orders ie no green light on and was within the 2 mins so shouldnt have been a prob!
  3. Did he though ?, MPT was under the 2 minute countdown and as such I don't think he was permitted to leave the track to rectify his own error. This seems to be reinforced by the refs decision. MPT has to take responsibility for this , even a quick check by the camp would have avoided the incident.
  4. The riders, with today's bikes, seemed perfectly fine with things at Glasgow on Saturday night, racing on a wet track, often in driving rain... the difference, they were chasing personal World Championship glory in an FIM meeting as opposed to riding in a humdrum league meeting in front of one man and his dog 🐕‍đŸŠșđŸ§â€â™€ïž
  5. Bettered only by Ove Fundin......10 years and finished no lower than 3rd. And that was in the era of 1) a single meeting world final...no room for error, not even an engine failure 2) strong opponents ie Briggs, Moore, Craven, Knutson, Plechanov, Crutcher. Could possibly have been 12 years running if the Swedish speedway authorities hadn't banned him in 1966, as he came back in 1967 and won his 5th title.
  6. 1970’s all day long . Crowds, amazing smells ,splattered with shale , average riders putting their heart and soul into every race, leathers without sponsors names all over them . Basically the sport ran properly. 2020’s are a joke in comparison.
  7. Looks like the ref got thjs 100% wrong as the rule only applies to reruns. Dreadful refereeing
  8. That Brady Kurtz needs to sort out his attitude and effort when he’s racing. Just the 18 from 6 yesterday

  9. some how wouldn't see ben cook making that move he did on Lebedev's for kings Lynn.
  10. We think it is important too. Andy has done a fine job at Glasgow since he first started helping them out a while back.
  11. Today
  12. Seems to me that some on here will find something to moan about no matter what happens. Met Office is currently showing 60-90% chance of rain right through from 11am so it looks like a good call. They could always have left it and then called it off when everyone was in the stadium, although at least the away fans wouldn't have travelled 5 hours like the Belle Vue fans at Ipswich a couple of weeks ago.
  13. The problem Kings Lynn have is how often these questionable call offs happen some may be justified (maybe tonight’s meeting ) but some clearly wasn’t in any other sport there would be an investigation into why there is so many meetings cancelled - and if found guilty a fine or points deduction or both but this is British speedway so nothing will happen but does nothing for the credibility of the sport
  14. You missed a trick then as you could have made a bob or two out of it but then it would have diverted your attention away from posting negatively about someone that did.
  15. It looked to be the Worky Start Marshall who pointed it out to MPT as soon as he arrived at the tapes, he immediately went back. May well have had time to shout from the gate and get a change of helmet colour brought over and still been within the time limit because it wasn't long into the 2 minutes on the countdown clock. Looked like the rule never occurred to him in the moment.

  17. And if we had had this forum back then there would be some having a pop at him for missing domestic fixtures. 😡
  18. Adrian Smith, as a newcomer to the sport, was truly "blown away" by the on track action, and couldn't believe the huge potential the sport had for strong growth given its "raw materials" and its current crowd size starting point .. Unfortunately, he was also "blown away" (but not in a good way), by the capabilities of many of those who ran the sport.. Eventually realising that their skill set, and lack of any ambition for change and growth, meant he was wasting his time, and considerable business acumen, dealing with them...

  20. Manchester is always cited as the rainiest of cities time and time again so Belle Vue should be the benchmark when setting an acceptable amount of rain offs per season. The five seasons between 21-25, we had to cancel eight league meetings whereas the stars cancelled 18. I think a fair figure would be two per season and anything above this sanctions or investigations need to be in place to get to the root cause of these persistent call offs. EVERYTHING needs to be done to ensure these meetings go ahead on an acceptable surface.
  21. A few years ago in the top flight you had Belle Vue as a lone voice against the old guard of Ipswich, Kings Lynn, Leicester, Sheffield & Wolves with the lower division sides supporting an as you were policy as the top flight is where their big hitters come from. This set up saw Adrian Smith jump/pushed and be lost to the sport due to the cartel’s reluctance for change. We now have the best chance to make a difference as there are only Kings Lynn & Sheffield left of the old cartel. With regards promotions, Northampton & Ipswich are in their first year and Leicester have two under their belts so this added to Belle Vues ongoing crusade sees the balance of power shift. Don’t get me wrong it’s not going to happen overnight (though we pretty much did that with Northampton) but with these new alliances and Colman in particular I can see change for the good happening. Also even though Rob Lyon wears his Stars hat on match days, he is another who wants speedway as a whole to alter despite his paymaster, so he is another valuable ally in the quest for change. One thing for certain, if it doesn’t happen now, it never will.
  22. The SR’s for the meetings say Friday meeting( 5th)re-staging 6th/7th Saturday meeting(6th) re-staging 7th/8th
  23. Plus, riding on Mondays, using 200 Guests, the majority of ridsrs Doubling Up and Pit Gates being unable to be fixed due to absolutely no one in fhe whole of fhe country being available to do it that day.... All missed opportunities... These Poles really don't have a clue do they?...
  24. Yesterday
  25. So MPT didn't look at the programme for helmet colour for his heat, nor did his mechanic and even more alarming the Team Manager didn't bother to check either. After MPT's exclusion for 2 minutes a couple of weeks ago for sauntering from the pit gate and not getting to the tapes in time, he needs to show a more professional attitude. He has cost the team points again and potentially a win overall.
  26. This call off does more plausible than the previous one. Problem is, we've had our fingers burnt too many times with wet tracks and Buster attempting to get raceable when we've been in the stadium...the riders, understandably (with today's bikes) just aren't interested.... similar to recent foxhall call off....
  27. The weather forecast for both nights of Manchester is pretty appalling. Does anyone know what the contingency plans are if one or both are rained off? Race on Sunday or even Monday? Travelling up from the South-East so want to assess Plan B options!
