Championship Predictions 2026

Agree. -
Peterborough won the league when chapman was involved there, if i remember Lynn finished bottom that year
-
How about a combined venture involving Northampton & Ipswich which could run as Northwich. The only problem is sat-nav would send fans to Cheshire and we would probably be looking for a track at Oulton Park!!! 🤔

Championship Predictions 2026

Plymouth will surprise lots of teams -
So the 6th team, looks like a "joint venture" led by all/some of the existing promoters?.. Makes sense from a shared loss point of view... But seriously, why bother? It wont give any more credibility to any of the trophies to be won across all leagues, as the operating model used will still stay exactly the same as always..

I know they approached the Dugard's at Eastbourne but like us, was told flatly no.

Those two posts sound similar and point to the same issue, but that throws up a red flag for me. Waiting on signing one rider for one season before pushing the button on buying a whole Speedway club, shouldn’t be a deal breaker should it? Hardly screams long term commitment does it??

Some odd performances by one or two Tigers riders at Northside if i remember. Struggling with set ups i heard but helped the old average. -
Surely that’s a complete conflict of interest? You can’t have two owners/promotors run their own clubs, and also own/run a second club between them in the same league. That’s just nuts. Glad Louis turned that particular proposal down! Wouldn’t think the Ipswich supporters would have been too thrilled either to be frank. The two promoters would naturally put their clubs first, and Ipswich would end up with the scraps just to get them running so their own clubs had a viable league to compete in. Assuming one was Chapman, he’s hardly going to help build a better team than his beloved Kings Lynn is he? Terrible idea, and pure desperation.

Championship KO Cup Draw

It looked like a bag that you buy perfume in for your missus. With a British Speedway sticker over the brand. - Yesterday

Godfrey said it himself on the 360 speedway podcast, he thought all the clubs who were bringing foreign riders in "is bizarre" when Alfie Bowtell and Lambert are out of a job. Hard to think the guy is the chairman of the BSPL. There's a thought for 2027 actually instead of growing the sport we could close the Championship to British riders only.

Its just a case of what colour the wooden spoon will be. -
The existing data is fine, I have actually got all of that already. I am actually creating a migration process to convert the result PDFs found on the British Speedway website into SQL statements to fit my PostgreSQL database structure as well. Was just hoping for teams there was somewhere that had something like: Oxford Cheetahs 1975-2005 Oxford Silver Machine 2005-2007 Oxford Cheetahs 2021-now for example (dates might not be exact in the example).

So an unsigned "number 1" could hold the whole club to ransom? Not a great position to be in 🤔
-
A decent offer was made by Two Premiership promotors in conjunction with Phil Morris to buy the Witches but this was turned down by Chris Louis as he felt it was worth more and had private interest . The latest I heard early this week was the proposed new owners were waiting on signing a number 1 before completing the payment for the sale transaction but do have most of the team signed

That is after a two point deduction though. They did look like they could make the playoffs for a chunk of the season, but let themselves down very badly on the road - but even then, the closest they got to winning was at Poole and Glasgow. A very enigmatic team. -
RIP Terry....

They sell loads of admission tickets at Wimborne Road every meeting.🤑 -
Didn't someone say that the Kennedys weren't coming over this year?

If what you say about Zaine is correct ? then looks out of order. I hope he gets fixed up elsewhere and is back to prove a point. Same with Dec if he misses out. Pickering is going to be very busy in all our fixtures. But he lacks support unless someone steps up big time - Luke ?. I see the idea with MPT he is very capable around Scunny. But...and there always is one can he stay fit ?. As I have said I do not see this Scorpions team looking like this at the end of May. I usually say "I dont like changing". But from this far out I have to say I think we will have to.😳

What about Northampton?
MajorMauger replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The BSPL are desperate for the top flight to increase in track numbers. I suspect both Northampton and Bradford would struggle to get viable crowds. -
What about Northampton?

That would be the same Bradford in west Yorkshire that has kicked stock cars out of odsal, despite still having a year left on the lease
