  3. And I if hear riders safety one more time🤬firstly racing motorbikes is dangerous, don’t like that fact do something else, 2nd,ok riders let’s talk about lowering the revs by 2000revs on the engines and make them less volatile and ultimately a considerable amount safer to ride ? No I didn’t think so
  4. I would of raced last night but riders were of a different mindset back in the day and we raced engines that were suited to the conditions not conditions suited to the engines, with that statement can anyone see where the problem is ???
  5. So both teams at full strength with no guests. Whats the weather forecast locally? Poole Co-Promoter Danny Ford calling for a professional performance from the Pirates, so I guess the initial target will be 34 points by heat 10. Lets hope BSN have sorted their issues from last night........!!
  6. There were no bangers or hot rods last weekend. 😉
  7. 3 day meetings are few and far between, especially on shale, but this was a major championship weekend for 2 formulas, with 2 other formulas in support, and many drivers from overseas. It was programmed a year ago (I booked my accommodation in October) so it's not like it was a surprise. Last night's meeting was supposed to run on 27th August, but was postponed and with the Foxes already having matches programmed on 3rd and 10th September, last night was the only option to run before the cut off. Good job they didn't qualify for the play offs as there is another 3-dayer at the end of the month, due to another promotion hiring the track for their major event.
  8. Absolutely - the on-the-night experience needs to be tightened up, with lots of engaging, interesting interviews, plus noise and colour - it's been proven in other sports (T20 cricket is the obvious example).
  9. Invariably, GPs do go ahead - which shows the influence of money and of the riders (I bet they were all set up in the pits and ready for action). Even so, does Vojens have three days of stock car, hot rod and banger racing a few days before?
  10. Villads Nagel pulled out injured. live updates https://live.baansportfansite.nl/event/1380/european-under-19-pairs-speedway-championship-final-pocking.html
  11. FIM long track of nations tomorrow Saturday 19th September start time 12.30pm Uk time. live updates https://live.baansportfansite.nl/event/1373/fim-long-track-of-nations-roden.html PPV from Tapes up TV https://www.tapesup.tv/fixtures/upcoming

  13. To be fair you look at most venues and they are stuck in the 80s complete with music from that era apart from list of songs that every track plays prior to the start, prior to heat 15, after a 5-1 and some individual rider victory songs, it’s like the BSPA handout out a list some 15 plus years ago and said you can only use these so every track plays the same stuff. Pretty much every club plays Republica before the meetings starts and Europe prior to heat 15, no one wants to stand out and be different it’s all the same old same old.

  15. Well, with that kind of serious threat, I’m sure the Glasgow management will be in touch to make sure you’re ok with their choices of rider next season before they sign as it would surely be a disaster for the club if you didn’t turn up…….🤣
  16. Agree to a point but if a highlights package only produces a false picture of what attending a meeting is like your setting yourself up to fail because as soon as these people visit most tracks they will see a much different picture and won’t be back.
  17. Hyde road co existed with stock cars well but Kirky lane did not. Northamptons fixtures need to be set to avoid following on closely from the stock cars and this should be easily achievable within any league of 10 or less. It’s all a learning curve and weirdly poor call offs happen to any and every track from time to time and whilst that’s no excuse it’s something for all tracks to learn from. Just this week I’ve seen on the news that football (torrential rain) and ice hockey (ice problem) were cancelled and I’ve had many gigs and theatre shows postponed for various reasons. This might not be the case last night but speedways big problem is the lack of communication with their customers when problems arise and I think that is what irks fans the most. This is easily corrected.
  18. Badgers v Moons. Come on we can do better than that , names, date , time.
  19. Agree a little bit of advertising of the new stadium on the board in the Spoons would be good (if it were allowed).
  20. Play Offs will do the same over here... It's the "run of the mill" meetings, that can easily get rearranged, and often then become Guestfests, that get called off the "easiest"... Those are the nights "live TV" would do the sport no favours...
  21. Maybe not running again after several days of Stox will be the answer going forward?.. Obviously a huge learning curve this season, but one I am sure they will learn from and improve on..
  22. If you haven’t had a reply by let’s say Monday can i suggest you forward your email to joanna.sikorska@speedway.torun.pl and maybe apologise for having to contact her direct but you haven’t had a reply.
  23. Interesting that the Danish Grand Prix went ahead despite the rain (20 heats)
  24. Oh dear. I went to the very first opening match and it was known they had practiced in the afternoon, the match afterwards in front of a crowd that must have been at least 3 thousand was effectively ruined, the racing was gate and go with little if any overtaking other that first bend and mistakes. Its clear from reading this thread today that a junior meeting took place in the afternoon proves that the idiots in charge are just not learning from earlier mistakes, using sub standard track material or don’t have the expertise to lay a track that provides proper racing, clearly the rain didn’t help but weather forecasts exist these days and should be taken into account. I haven't been to Northampton since but we are looking to attending the Woffinden Testimonial in October, it will be interesting to see if anything has changed, from what I have read this year I fear not much, we will see.
  25. Glad Ipswich knocked us out of the play-offs - we were going as we still had hope of a play off spot, glad I settled for TV and saved myself the 2 hours plus journey each way
