  1. Past hour
  2. Yes a lot of bike issues, no idea why, doubt he had any idea either, good rider but not very hands on!!
  3. Rocketfuelman had another poor night by his standards
  4. Did you see Shohei Othani's performance in game 4 of NLCS?Apologies for the post not being speedway related. https://www.mlb.com/news/shohei-ohtani-nlcs-game-4-facts-and-figures Astonishing!!!!
  5. So can anyone out there help me out? I'm a bit confused by a couple of recent incidents, both involve two riders racing lines converging onto the same bit of track. The first was Tobias' exclusion against Redcar KO cup, Ace Pijper on a fast wide line has Tobias sweep in front of him on a slower inside line, Ace could see what was happening but held his course and rode into the back of Tobias, and falls as a result. Referee decision Ts exclusion. The second is Kye Howarth overtake of Zac Cook, Zac on the outside has Howarth comes clattering into the side of Zac who slowed as he struggled to avoid coming off. Howarth goes on to win no problem. So would Zac have been better off falling off?
  6. If they are changing from speedway to road racing at least they won't have to bother with a planning application for change of use.
  7. Today
  8. Well my bookie wont like me - a small home win it was, now forthe thumping at Poole's dusty road. I am just hoping ti dont rain coz Poole dont like it wet. Been around in speedway for over 65 years, it aint over till the fat lady sings.
  9. I was thinking of something more alcoholic. A lot of celebrating to do.
  10. Would that vanilla / Chocolate / Strawberry treble ice cream be on a waffle cone?
  11. Sounds like a virtual total muck out in your eyes. Are the faccenas safe?
  12. That's a great point, just feel it would be more beneficial for a 17 year old after a season racing in the Champ. As brilliant as Cooper has been this season, he lost to Mulford at Ipswich, lost to Harrison & Scott at Workington, lost to Morley & Foord at Iwade. Now these riders would be the easiest opponents he'd get to meet in the Prem, even as a RS. So my concern would be it could hurt his confidence racing in the Prem so early in his career, I can't see any negatives to waiting till 2027? Now this is no slight on Cooper, there's no reason why a 15 should be expected to beat all these guys in his first season, which is the reason why I wouldn't recommend racing in the Prem, just too big a jump for me. Even if Ipswich said "no pressure, just enjoy yourself" no-one likes to lose each time, plus why wouldn't Ipswich use the best RS possible? Last time they overlooked Kemp & Rowe for Joe T, didn't work out (till they signed Dan). If he does sign, I hope I'm proved wrong & he does well, I just can't help but think would Boughen have been better taking one step at a time & don't want Cooper to follow suit.
  13. Will tassel boy be with the club in 2026
  14. I thought Poole done well to keep the deficit to 2 points tonight when you consider the tension and excitement of last night. It's looking like consecutive trebles for the Pirates which is some achievement. The consistency of performance at the business end from their top 4 in particular has been very impressive.
  15. I was thinking back to Screen & Loram, then remembered Lambert started in the top flight. Although interestingly both Loram & Lambert rode in the second division soon after riding in the first division. Screen & Bridger are the ones who stayed in the top league for most of their careers.
  16. Yeah rather strangely there was dust from the get go too.
  17. Yeah and Lewi Kerr should have been in for Rich Lawson. He had beaten Charles in heat 10 and Jason in heat 12.
  18. Redcars first signing for next season should be someone who knows how to water a track. Never seen a water bowser being driven around without actually putting any water down ! Half decent match otherwise, mainly because the score was close , not a lot of overtaking after first lap as not a lot of grip, just dust. Thought Scott tried his hardest for little reward and Mulford was fast when he gated. Kerr showed why he likes the place and Pirates have done enough for the deserved treble.
  19. Yeah, a few decent races but mainly from the gate. Leon Flint did comment afterwards it was a shame there hasn't been much dirt the last few weeks. Pretty clear it's not enough, but still nice to end with a home win. Didn't feel like anyone was really excellent or really poor for either side really. A touch surprised King was not in 15 but Edwards had been doing well after a poor first ride.
  20. There wasn’t much passing after lap 1, a couple I think at most. But there hasn’t been in the streams I’ve watched in the last few months. Weather plays a part but not been great. I’m not a Wimborne Road hater btw. Thought Charles should have been off 4 in Heat 15 but it’s pretty immaterial anyway.
  21. Game over Redcar needed a 14pt lead as a minimum.
  22. It's absolutely possible. everything is possible. you're viewing it from a rider/machinery perspective. that approach has got us this far. it's time to start to think about selling the public a product they want not what the makers of the product want to provide. I can guarantee you riding or being a mechanic or a TM/Promoter at a speedway meeting is way more exciting than it is attending one as a supporter. these people probably sit there and scratch their heads as to why nobody turns up as they probably all have a great time. race finishes 2 minutes on next heat starts. have a 5 min grading break after heat 5 and 10 if there's been no natural stoppages. make the participants adapt to that. will it effect the quality of the on track action? I doubt it.
  23. We might as well get the talk going for next season since our season is now officially finished. Looks like it is going to be 2 leagues again and with Harris already signed his first contract of the season I feel like if it was Glasgow it would have been announced last night. I would happily take him back though, he is still the main man. Villads Nagel - not coming back. Dan Thompson - might be slowly approaching the bigger and better things point but I reckon he would still benefit from another season in the championship. I would take Dan back for next season but his average is maybe a bit high now. Leon Flint - I would not take Flint back he started the season extremely poor then picked it up more so for Sheffield then slightly tailed off again. Flint can definitely do a job but is just a bit unreliable for me. Kyle Howarth - would not be disappointed either way if he left or was re-signed. He had a great season overall but I would maybe lean towards finding someone else if I was pushed. Freddie Hodder - There is a racer in there somewhere but just not sure if we could afford carrying another 2 reserves that have the potential to score 0 points in a meeting. The number 6 position is more important than ever in speedway it seems these days. Max Perry - Definitely improved over the season and seemed to be getting faster. I think both his crashes set him back slightly but as a rising star/2.00 rider I would probably sign him up again. One change I would definitely make would be a new team manager.
