  1. Today
  2. Scunny never has a big following on here, most got sick of the godfrey bashing
  3. There are several stages to the AGM. For the first part, only the clubs who took part in the current season are involved. They go over the finances of the current season, iron out if anyone owes money to any other club, and declare if they want to run the following year. Presumably everyone except Birmingham has declared an intention to run. Then for the second part of the AGM (delayed to Jan 6th) they consider any new applications to join the league for next year, and anyone accepted is invited to join in the remaining meetings where they make plans for next year.
  4. There were two offers, but it's not been announced if one of them has been accepted or both have been rejected. CL flies back from Oz on Jan 7, the day after the AGM starts, so it's fair to say he won't be attending that. It's unclear if an announcement will be made before the AGM or just after. Anything else is just guesswork, as even those close to him are being kept in the dark,,,
  5. Yesterday
  6. Why is it? I dont spent my life on here unlike you . I said my bit on what I think of you and your pal Shovlar. Pair of wronguns.
  7. So there can't be a 6th team then as they've missed the declaration?
  8. One thing I am not clear about here. There seems to be a feeling that CL has received two offers but neither are as much as he wanted. Ok, fine, so he doesn't undersell. What then? Instead of making some money out of a sale, he makes nothing at all. Is that where we are at the moment, or am I missing something?
  9. Can you explain to me how having a loss making speedway club is good for tax purposes? Surely you would still make less net profit than if you didn't have the loss making speedway club?
  10. I have found some positive stats for Bandits fans. Smith averaged 3.07 in his 2025 matches, but with the last couple against Workington not counting, must've had a poor end to 2024, which drops his rolling ave. Now that's still a disappointing season for a reserve with his experience no doubt, but does mean Berwick could be hopeful he can add half a point to his ave.
  11. Think Kemp not coming back upset the plans. Was not expecting V.P but don’t think he is bad signing though.
  12. League standard must be terrible if King's Lynn are favourites imo.
  13. And this silly vendetta against all things NORA needs to STOP!
  14. If the rumours are correct that 2027 could see a cash injection of the back of work being done by speedway futures then that money needs using wisely. The best way would be to ensure as many tracks as possible are operating & that new riders are coming through. The sport needs to ensure the likes of Mildenhall & Eastbourne 2 venues with a history of speedway & tracks still in place need to be operational as league tracks. Then anything that can be done to get Coventry & Peterborough back. Two venues that are dormant same applies to Wolves. Then some good investment in bringing riders through. Speedway in this country is at the bottom it needs investment in infrastructure & assets to start rebuilding. Anything less & I give it 3-5 years before the final curtain falls.
  15. I do wonder whether this can be spun to a party line making it look as if the top riders bailed on Britain and that's why they've gone, not the indecision causing them to sign more secure contracts elsewhere. They jumped, they weren't pushed. The cynic in me can see Ipswich (for example) coming to tapes with a much weakened team and the justification that they almost didn't run at all so the fans should just be happy to have speedway at all. And undoubtedly the majority of happy clappers would swallow it hook, line and sinker.
  16. There's already a track (not sure if it is still in use though). When I went Jaimon Lidsey was riding (in the Australian Youth Championships).
  17. That makes absolutely no sense. Meeting opposing teams twice in a league which runs roughly April to September means meeting twice in 6 months regardless of whether it's a 9 team league or a 6 team league. What you're suggesting is that the CL season lasts 16 weeks and the PL season lasts 10 weeks, which is nonsense.
  18. I suppose that depends on how reasonable (or othewise) the Championship terms were.....
  19. I think it’s pretty evident that to a fair few Ipswich supporters, Chris Louis walks on water and can’t do a thing wrong. They’re going to back him no matter what. Which of course is their prerogative. As a neutral, he’s rightly being criticised by others because he’s treated his own supporters appallingly here.
  20. We as loyal fans (1981 was my 1st visit) all have opinions on what's gone on or going on at Ipswich, i enter my 44th season, give or take a couple i took a break from, and i totally back @Aries in everything he has said. We can all say about what if we were in a position on losing money, that situation i can't argue with, you would consider selling it, that's obvious, but the Radio Silence for all of us fans for me is simply poor, irrelevant at what he has done for the club as a rider and a promoter through the years, just be honest with the loyal supporters who has backed him and his family for years. His silence is painful for so many. As a very loyal Ipswich fan, i now can see all the frustrations that Wolves,Peterborough,Swindon,Lakeside and many more, to many to name, supporters feel at all the uncertainty surrounding their clubs. Now it's our turn, and i hold my hand up it's painful. There maybe 2 bidders on the table, there maybe more, but until Louis lowers his asking price, it's simply not going to sell. Yes its controversial, and yes there are Witches fans rolling their eyes at my post, but I've spent many evenings travelling the country Home and Away supporting Ipswich for years, and in my own honest opinion, my loyalty towards Chris and the situation is wearing thin. Not saying loads agree with me, just giving an honest opinion. Clubs already naming riders (That's the 4 teams that remain), but as we sit here this evening, there is NO guarantee Ipswich come to tapes, irrelevant of the Fine @PhilTheAce is talking about, that simply won't happen, as we all know rules and regulations in this sport are not worth the paper they are written on. I would say we are closer to NOT running than people think, unless as i read on here earlier today Chris is calling people's bluff and he remains in charge, but for me if he does that, he will have a lot of rebuilding to do with the Supporters. I hope i'm 100% wrong, and we race, but im nowhere near as confident as some. Many Apologies for the long post. Tomorrow is another day???
  21. There is an 'Ipswich' in Australia, maybe he is looking to open a track there? 😦
  22. What was positive like? It all went downhill as soon as they signed VP on that average. The inevitable duffers like Etheridge and Jack Smith were always going to happen.
  23. or (c) Threaten to sell the business, but actually p1ss off to Australia and leave your loyal customers high and dry, and wondering what is going on. I'd have gone for option (b). Chris Louis seems to have gone for option (c). So what's your point?
