  1. Past hour
  2. SoN in Manchester October 2021, a lovely weekend, July 2024 pished it down all week!
  3. I don’t mind making myself look silly because majority of other people do as well… unless you’re perfect 😉 !
  4. But then again, we could have an 'Indian summer' and have better track conditions in October than in August and September. A few years back I was on holiday in Suffolk in October and we had bright sunshine and daytime temperatures of 18 degrees. On the other hand, I remember an August one year when I went to stock car meetings with heavy rain that would have called off a speedway meeting on all 5 Saturday's in the month.
  5. It does become more of a lottery weather wise the further you go through September and October but some of the best Speedway matches I've seen have been under lights on a crisp autumn night. With PL clubs limiting themselves to 2 race nights per week, without track covers, they are just increasing their chances of not being able to run.
  6. Always best to wait for the official announcement of the dates, rather than making yourself look silly by ranting about something you have made up in your head. 😉
  7. I understand what you say but my argument is that you push meeting to October and you’re asking for more issues in Britain, also, the difference from casual supporters turning up when the weather is bearable vs October freezing there arse off is night and day, this could impact the amount of people bothering to turn up and instead watching on TV in the warmth.
  8. Yes, I could have been more clear, thanks
  9. Revised details can now be confirmed for the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership play-offs following the postponement of Monday’s semi-final at Leicester. With the Lions’ opponents Sheffield electing to retain their regular home race night this week, the Tigers will stage what has become the first leg on Thursday September 18. The second leg of the semi-final will be at Leicester on Monday September 22, whilst Thursday September 25 will be held as a reserved date. The Grand Final will not start on this date. There is then a break for the FIM Speedway of Nations, with the Grand Final to take place on Monday October 6 (at Sheffield or Leicester) and Thursday October 9 (at Ipswich).
  10. I do feel some people are going a bit overboard on the cancelations, especially in the PL. The season does not finish until the end of October, so there's still around 6 weeks to run 4 matches. The alternative is to finish up by the end of August... and people would be complaining about that. I think it's more imperative that clubs invest in track covers more than ever, with riders not wanting to ride at the slightest site of a wet track these days, track covers would certainly allow many of the fixtures to take place when there's been the 4 o'clock shower that leaves a track saturated and the sun is out at start time. The CL on the other hand, that does seem to be a bit more shambolic with all of their competitions still having a long way to run.

  12. Today
  13. Ipswich won’t run a Thursday night, they only run on Monday bank holidays so naturally Leicester will get the Monday at home and Ipswich will end up with Thursday before hand for the first leg. Absolute shambles once again from Speedway, they will put it down to the weather and take no responsibility about sorting out more fixtures in summer months. We’ve had hardly any rain offs this summer so it would have been perfect to get more done, but we wait until crap weather comes in September and also try to cram it between the Toruń SON which starts in September as well. Add on top of that the fact the league didn’t even finish on time shows how much of a joke it really is.
  14. Leszno confirm that Ben Cook, Zengota and Kolodziej will all stay with the club in 2026. Pickering is leaving for pastures new.
  15. League winners decided by extra meetings on dreadful tracks affected by the weather when the season is over .Whats new? And people want speedway taking seriously 😒
  16. You could argue that having top notch machinery is part of being an excellent Speedway rider and not unlucky at all. It's no coincidence that you often see the same riders with mechanical issues
  17. You're right, my bad. I've just found it deep in an Ekstraliga article about it - August 29th 2026. Bank Holiday weekend too, sounds ideal. The wording also suggests maybe it's just the final in Warsaw: "I consider this our success, and in the meantime, I invite everyone to Warsaw on May 17 this year for the Grand Prix and on August 29, 2026, to the PGE Narodowy." If WBD went back to a SWC across 2/3 countries again I think I'd forgive them for everything.
  18. Exactly and it’s not as if the points difference is vast for the non-finalists and the finalists. The more points scored in the 20 heats the better chance of scoring 12 rather than 11 in finishing 2nd in the LCQ’s and so on 10 to 9, and 8 to 7. I like it - easy to work out ( now WBD have stopped cocking up the scorechart for TV ).
  19. If tomorrow is rained off will it be restaged the following Wednesday replacing the Blue Riband individual?
