  1. Past hour
  2. Don't laugh, one year the Australians staged a Tasmanian State Championship purely to generate visa entitlements, and held it somewhere in Victoria (or New South Wales).
  3. I expect that Adams presence will be significant in the Ipswich pits in 2026
  4. Maybe GM, maybe not! I’ll believe it when I see it this time after the last fiasco. I still remember the official website posting pictures of Louis shaking Busters hand and the headline “Witches sold”. Weeks and then months went by and nothing further was ever said. We now know that Buster backed out of that deal, but nobody said a word, it was all just swept under the carpet as if nothing happened and Louis just carried on as usual!
  5. 1/5th at the title too! down from 1/7th from 2025!
  6. Again, everyone seems to know who Chris Louis has sold Ipswich to. Is it Mayfield Sports Events LTD or is it someone else?
  7. That’s not how speedway works, a promotion feels they are being victimised and spits their dummy out and the rest have to compromise to stop that promotion running off home with the ball thus that promotion gets their way and the bspl calls it in the interest of the sport, add to that there are those at the top of the pecking order and there is those at the bottom
  8. Gosh old KB - we had him at Arena in i think 1990 him and Kevin Teager when injuries hit, to be fair to Brice he was quite effective at reserve seem to recall him banging in a few good scores
  9. Today
  10. The Directors are unable to implement anything significant without the approval of the shareholders the majority of whom are the self serving championship promoters.
  11. Kyle is many times a better rider than Max with equipment levels even further above (temperament is a different issue) however the bigger issue is that every year people are bringing up retired/returning riders and thats simply because there isn't enough of a pipeline in place to fill places, thats because the NL's are in a poor state and thats because of those who run the sport.
  12. If world titles were judged over the first three yards Bricey would have more titles than Bartoz he could outrap anyone the problem was most of the time he was on a flymo. Yep those teams during the mid 80's we would be in with a sniff then you would have a critical heat where it was Nielson and Wigg (virtually unbeatable at Lynn) v Brice and Einar
  13. An extract from a letter from an eye-witness: I was at the track that night and Graham had won his first two starts from the gate and was riding really well, but was beaten by young Peter Pollitt in his third start. He came out to ride in the first handicap race and was on 150 yards. Boy, did he go! Probably determined to make up for his defeat in the previous race. Well, he took off and on the pit bend was really flying, picked up 50 yards on the back straight and coming into the top bend was 20 yards behind Pinker when Pinker fell. Graham, coming round very fast either touched him with his footrest (he was coming on the inside) or else in trying to avoid Pinker, he lost control. I did not see him hit Pinker’s bike, but the next thing, Graham shot over the handlebars and went sliding along the track for 20 yards on his face and stomach, his arms trailing at his sides just like a wooden soldier, and he just stopped and never moved. I think he was actually “out” before he hit the ground. As far as I can gather, he has concussion at the base of the skull and as yet has not regained his senses. These are the plain facts and I hope I have not upset his fiancĂ©e but that’s exactly how things are. The crowd (10,000) had just stood for 2 minutes in memory of Ken (Le Breton) who was the idol of Palmerston North crowds and believe me that same crowd was silent for a long time after the ambulance had left with Graham. I am fully confident he will be ok. Being young and strong, I guess he can take it.
  14. Trackrat would love to see the demise of Poole, he hates them
  15. Why only tag me in this? Over half the forum knows who he is. A disgusting individual who should be locked away for life.
  16. Yesterday
  17. Are they in the room with you at this moment? 😉
  18. No, there are many clubs we have or have had a rivalry with and that is good, absolutely nothing wrong with that. I am sure we all hope no more clubs disappear.
  19. Hope you don't disappear, love coming down when the Comets are riding, to look at the luxury boats before going to the speedway 😁, and I won't be able to post on here anymore to keep the pilots fans happy đŸ€Ș🙃
  20. Yes plenty of people do that and that is fine, most Poole fans are used to that but there is one or two who would take pleasure in our demise.
  21. Plenty of people down the years have had a pop at Poole, me included. I don't recall any of them expressing satisfaction at any doubt cast over the club's operating future, though as in all things I stand to be corrected!
  22. Graham Warren had the potential to be World Champion. Third in the 1950 World Championship but a bad accident in New Zealand early in 1951 left him with a fractured skull and, although he returned to the saddle and became a reasonably good rider, he never quite returned to the heights he had reached before his accident, even though he did come 5th twice in the World Championship in 1952 and 53. But he was certainly a case of what might have been. 1963 was his final season before retirement.
  23. Not absurd at all, you are correct that any fan worth their salt would not want the demise of yet another speedway club but unfortunately that does not apply to everybody who comments on Poole threads.
  24. That did make me laugh. Underrated post!
