  1. Past hour
  2. Just look at the event from the 10th to the 13th September at the Northampton track and see how the whole period is organised with the punters in mind whereas speedway is organised around the participants and the punters are not even considered. Agree that the drivers pay to compete but you give a good few hours of entertainment that appeals to a whole range of ages and Spedeworth go out to treat the punter to an event. Speedway does not even come close in this country and until the views of the a few change and the promoters get an idea of what it takes to promote, it will continue to attract less and less punters. Speedway is not value for money from an entertainment perspective and is run by fickle promoters who have fickle riders who dictate what when and how things go on in terms of the track. I would rather pay £20 on a banger/stock car meeting knowing it will be on then rock up to a track for speedway only to find that a cat has pissed on bend four and it is not suitable for racing according to the riders. Chalk and cheese when it comes to entertainment and value for money, hence the only speedway worth watching at this time is the Polish scene who know how to put on a meet.
  3. Well thats 3 points on the board from the first 3 races
  4. Nothing new regarding Fixtures it's shambles again and getting worse every season. Teams should be forced to run on their reserved night if these clashes arise.Honestly don’t think would effect crowd levels significantly.
  5. Today
  6. The original fixture clashed with the qualifying round so would of still be unavailable. Its so disappointing as the boy wants to ride for his team.
  7. All costs are covered by the rider and his family.
  8. If we get 40 that'd be a pretty good night, its an awful hunting ground for us.
  9. Think I have seen something that dan said he would not be riding for belle Vue for the rest of this season and everyone was happy with the job Jason Doyle is doing . Not sure if this is allowed under the injury rules
  10. The insistence of clinging on to a dated team concept doesn't help, nor does the fact you pretty much only get 15 minutes of 'product' for your money means speedway isn't moving with the times. Give me at least 40 minutes racing for my money. Make it serious or make it irrelevant, but don't dress up irrelevant as a serious sport. I don't think banger racing is a particularly serious sport, it's designed to be accessible to competitors and fun and value for money for them and spectators. That's the main difference between the two. Banger racers also pay to race, unlike speedway where riders all expect to be paid. This is something speedway will have to get its head around if it is going to survive.
  11. I live near the southern end of the England/Wales border. My nearest League Speedway track is, I believe Poole. That according to Google maps is 145 miles away and will take me about 3 hours, As they (in my experience) always under estimate time) I would say it would take me well over the three hours. I like Speedway, and would like to go meetings, but at that distance and time. no way! I went to the Cardiff GP's but after many enjoyable years gave up as the view of the riders passing the finish line wea obscured in most races by people in front of us jumping up, waving flags etc. spoiled it for me
  12. Lions by around 10 points. Hope I'm wrong though.
  13. There will be well over 100 Guests used in the 2nd tier this season... So what not just run more Guestfests during those weeks they chose not to run meetings?... And many of those weeks had no FIM/FIM Europe clashes...
  14. With the light shower we had first thing I assumed It'd be off
  15. Anders Rowe guesting instead of Chris Harris also according to Glasgow Social Media
  16. Any interest in this one? It sees two Australian World Cup winners in Ryan Douglas and Max Fricke on track. Justin Sedgman guests at reserve for the Lions. Stars line-up as per usual.
  17. Any idea when playoffs might be staged? Fri 18th of September will be out of the question for Scunny as Pickering has a Polish league meeting. 11th will be 1st leg I assume and if Scunny want 2nd leg it would have to be 25th unless they run on Sunday 13th.
  18. Full facility has been extended as Glasgow tried to sign a replacement for Kyle but availability for said riders was minimal
  19. I'm surprised at how often riders fight for the lead in a pairs event (when it's the semis / final). Going from 2nd to 1st gains nothing. If you try to block 3rd & get passed, you've not lost anything!
  20. He'd have known that PK was there though, there was also the risk that following Morris on the inside on that first bend could have given him the chance to clamp him and slow things down. It's a difficult one really, I dont think Lawson looked particularly quick in that race anyway as he had gated 2nd and Morris managed to get past on the first lap.
  21. I get where you're coming from tk a degree, but Lawson wasn't looking behind much, so it really just looked like he was trying for 2nd, rather than worrying about the rider behind coming round him.
  22. I thought Glasgow had to use a quest well under Howarths average? 75% rule or something? somewher around 6.5?
