I suspect that gravity has taken it's toll by now, as it does with all of us!
-
They are struggling with this everywhere so it's something that needs looking at very closely. Mencel went underneath the fence on Saturday in Ostrow because it doubles as the pit gate. Anywhere you have a pit gate on a bend you cannot dig down the required level or anchor it the same as other panels so that area has massive vulnerability.

any eyelets or straps at the bottom would soon become a danger

So in your opinion, which clubs are being run by hobbyists?
-
Shan’t be coming now.
-
I mean. A group of promoters, the majority of whom promote Championship speedway. That said, “Cartel” is a very strong term to use. Maybe more accurate to use “hobbyists” who’s preference is to keep to the way things are run because that protects their involvement to a low level of risk whilst fulfilling their egos.

It was more important to get them roses pruned in this nice weather - Today

If the riders and medics etc haven't seen written guarantee of who is underwriting the costs and it can't be Boothby they better not be crying about it after.
-
Buster bought Leicester hoping to run stock cars which the council refused, that’s why he sold it to the Bates very quickly. I see Northampton are now advertising for staff, leaving things a bit late🤔
-
Should add, none of the above is a secret. It's all in the public domain if you look for it or ask the stakeholders.
-
Jamie did say from the get go they would be racing this week I’m not sure he would have done that is he wasn’t certain.
-
Rent 20k, leccy 20k a month plus all other operational costs. Over 2m has been lost there so if speedway are saying they are running something sinister is going on. They need to come out and say who's funding it and who will pay everyone because there is no money there and loans will be called in at any time.
-
Dave, I think I can reply on behalf of some of those who have poured their heart and souls into this, if its a genuine complaint or suggestion of which can be addressed please by all means contact the club and we will see if we can fix it. If its a moan about the weather or the price of the outside catering, there's not alot we can do. I know there was a starting gate problem and the P A wasn't the best, however everyone keep turning up and you will see improvements every time you come.

Did I read that the monthly rent in total, for Dogs and Speedway, was £20k?.. If so, I presume Oxford Speedway's rent contribution would be some part of this £20k total? Could they pay the £20k themselves? (If that is the rental?)... Two matches per month would require an extra 500 or so at each meetng to cover this in totality... Would an extra 500 (non regulars) attend given they will understand a possible threat of total closure? If the NDL is a money loser then taking time out from that might also help the overall cause?

Speedway didn't even get a mention here either! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp3lq3l5gzvo

I think the number 1 could swap a couple of time during the season

It exists. Every Premiership club has a rep. In addition there is a rep who is not club specific, so that they can feed information and ideas on from fans of Championship and NDL clubs and those with no club to follow. Some reps are more active than others within their clubs. David Lowe at Leicester is a good example of an active rep. The Facebook group Speedway Fans Network UK collects ideas and comments, tabulates those and feeds them to Phil Morris periodically. At the 2024 AGM the spreadsheet was presented to all attendees. It was also available for the 2025 AGM but they may have had other priorities! The challenge as ever is to get clubs to engage with the reps

The response to the final statement should be "No. We're not doing that. We're forming our own company, ta ta". But i doubt there'd be enough either numerically or brave enough
-
We’re doomed, no question. If this forum and other social media channels is any indication of the sport and who we should be championing and getting behind we are right royal f#*%ed.
-
Well they have announced the team for Wednesday, they would not do that if there was doubt it was happening.

I don’t agree with this more expensive on Match Day Pricing at some Tracks whether it be CasH or Card.
