  1. Past hour
  2. Viv Muddle looks like he could be next off the production line
  3. I attended the Manchester Storm v Cardiff Devils ice hockey match at the AO Arena in Manchester city centre on Sunday (1 November 2026) – and so did the majority of the Belle Vue Aces!! When I arrived at my seat, the big screen above the ice rink displayed ‘Today’s Game Sponsor’ with the Aces logo below it. Not having seen or heard anything about this happening, I was quite surprised. Before an ice hockey match, the two team captains and, usually, representatives of the game sponsors take part in a ceremonial puck drop. So, after both teams entered the rink, came the announcement:- ‘Today’s Game Sponsor is the Belle Vue Aces Speedway Team, the 2026 Premiership Champions. Please welcome out onto the ice Brady Kurtz and Norick Blodorn.’ My seat was on the back row of the lower tier with one of the hospitality boxes directly behind it. When there was a break in play after a few minutes, I thought I heard the familiar dulcet tones of Norick Blodorn behind me, and so I turned to look over and there indeed was Norick and Brady Kurtz – with Brady sporting a Storm replica away shirt. Then I could see Mark Lemon; Zach Cook; Tate Zischke and William Cairns were there also – along with a couple of faces I did not recognise. I wonder if one might have been ‘Chase The Ace’ in civvies?? I managed to exchange a few words with Brady & Norick during the break at the end of the first period, and the chap near me asked ‘Do you know those guys?’ I replied, ’They're members of the Belle Vue Aces speedway team, tonight’s sponsor’. ‘I’m not sure I know what that is’ he said, ‘Are they actually based in Manchester?’ I wasn’t sure then whether to laugh or cry!! LOL!! Anyhow, the drinks must have been flowing freely, as the cheering from the Aces box got louder and louder as the match progressed. Norick seemed to be acting as cheer leader as they were all joining in with the 'Let's go Storm, let's go' chants. Finally, at the end of the match, the man-of-the-match presentations (one player from each team) were done by Mark Lemon and Zach Cook. Maybe it wasn't the best time in the Ice Hockey season for this to have happened? The season goes on until May/June, so had the Aces done a sponsorship in e.g. late March, it would have been just about the perfect time to have incorporated some Aces ticket marketing to get some newbies (like that chap near me) to go along to the NSS and witness some speedway?
  4. Yesterday
  5. You must be very old if you remember them all!!
  6. 15 times league champions mate, i think we will be fine as we always are.
  7. I’m surprised that if Dan is Ipswich bound nobody has considered Max Fricke could be on his way back to BV
  8. I would stand by what I said last year… It would be a no to Brennan from me
  9. New X Wimbledon Kent Kings (NL). Where does someone in their twilight and from my neck of the woods go now for a regular speedway fix? The sport in this country has been in decline for many decades Have the Polish and Swedish league models been looked at to see how we could possibly make a better fist of it. Fan experience has NEVER been high on a promoters list of priorities.
  10. His club have just taken two of your riders with absolute ease so I’d sit out the petty point scoring for a while if I were you.
  11. Not totally against it. His form was puzzling though
  12. Glad the rule has been ditched,it’s entriguing when 2 totally different team set ups meet each other and who then comes out on top,and most importantly giving teams freedom to build how they want to.
  13. But as I said, the main airports are Stansted and Luton
  14. But as I said, the main airports are Stansted and Luton
  15. Does anyone Edinburgh fans want cluff back?
  16. Just out of interest, can you get lemon flavoured sour grapes?
  17. I think now the 1 over 8 in the team has been scrapped alot of teams will have strong top 5 and a 2pointer at reserve Whalley,Southwick, vale, summers to name a few. So stronger reserves could be beneficial possibly
  18. And another, Georg Hack died today, November 2, 2026
  19. Don't think a modern day thrashing will be any where like the ones in 1978,80+81 😲
  20. He's let the comets down twice now, so don't want to make it 3rd time unlucky, but before he disappeared this past season he was riding very well, was unbelievable at Glasgow
  21. Agreed both reserves are weak away from home. It would be great to see Anze G stay for another season.
  22. Why do I get the horible feeling that we are going to end up with the likes of Jake Allen and Simon Lambert??
  23. Win lose or draw its the racing for me !
  24. I wish I could mate but my average doesn’t fit in with the team plans, was what Danyon posted in regard to coming back to Berwick
  25. We travel to home matches from Barrow due to work we cant make all matches, however may be less inclined to spend £50 on admission and £40 on diesel to see the Comets get thrashed, thats not to say we wont come but it is far more attractive to watch your side winning and being in the mix for honours
