š UPRIGHT SPEEDWAY WEEKEND... - Workington Comets Speedway | Facebook

Indeed. One thing I will say, is if we now have far better contacts and ability to entice new top riders over, then thatās exactly what we should do instead of taking the easier route and throwing a few extra quid at one or two of the small pool or top riders weāve already got here. Thereās isnāt that many that youād call world class riders over here at present, so if we can bring our own in and add to that number rather than pinch someone elseās, then thatās better for the league as a whole. More clubs would get a good number 1, and more world class riders over here to add to what we already have would make the league more attractive and increase the chances of securing a new TV deal.

Guess that will be a local bike show then ? cannot find any link to it on any of the motorcycle meet calendars, facebook events calendars Autojumble & Vehicle shows in the UK | Facebook or autojumble events calendars, where it needs to be in order to let people know where and what it is, so does not seem to be very well advertised ? got any links ?

Alternatively the sport as a whole looks at resolutions that would stop clubs losing serious money every season, perhaps this is what Coleman was getting at as in an 8 team premiership with everyone else in a watered down championship with reduced costs Something needs to change regardless

Lets hope so but sometimes we have to be realistic as the saying goes Rome wasn't built in a day and we have to judge IMHO the new promotion come Winter 2027! (Assuming we get a 2027!)

Does anyone know if there's a semi rich local business man/fan who might step in ? I know over the years sadly the willing benefactors who would swoop in and be willing to write off 50-100k per annum has dwindled along with fans coming in through the gates but maybe there is someone. Real shame as they seem to have an excellent track and a lot of work has gone into getting everything up and running.

The kind of rider that the sport's success and development relied on during the 60's, 70's and 80's... Then from circa the 90's onwards, so many more riders became "Full time Professionals".. In a sport that couldn't afford them to be... Which also meant many left the sport given they couldn't make it pay to the level they wanted.... Leaving what we have now, a lack of riders, particularly for the "engine room" of teams... A couple of "supestars" and five "Richard Lawson's" per team would be utopia I would suggest... -
Coleman wants to put bums on seats next year. The hope is to bring back those that have drifted away this year due to losing Doyle and Emil in particular, and even add to the numbers we were getting the last few years. The ambition is certainly there and the two names he mentioned to me personally last week certainly outlines that. Sometimes you run in to people who have all the talk and then just donāt deliver. Weāve seen and heard many of those over the years! This fella though, doesnāt strike me as one of those. BUT, the proof of the pudding and all that. Just have to wait and see if those plans come to fruition.

Leicester vs. Ipswich KO CUP Final 2nd Leg 30/07/26

He looked like he was being dragged by Paul Hurry to collect his medal after the rest of the team were taken on the truck, he was also the first to come back to the pits on his own. -
Massive Shame if this happens , not been to Northside yet but always bump into Worky fans at the GP at Belle Vue and they are great , letās hope a benefactor comes in.
-
There must be other tracks in the Championship struggling to survive as well, maybe only Poole making any profit which is not sustainable for the League, Scunthorpe might make a little from the Stock cars so will off set the Speedway maybe?

Could always get grandad to help!

With this āWroclaw partnershipā I do wonder if there will be one or two riders linked with both clubs for 2027 And if what I have heard is true⦠Ipswich may need to make sure those air fences are extra secure for next seasonā¦
