Worrying with Sheffield if the Bates step back will someone with enough money come in to save the Tigers. In the perfect world top league would be eight teams once home and away if nothing else fewer meetings would stem losses and negate the issue of seeing the same teams every other week. Home meetings would need to be at least fortnightly though rather than the current monthly nonsense with some teams.

Don't disagree with any of that Noaksey I personally think 8 and 8 way to go with top league once home and away in the perfect world top league standard 30% better than currently so every team has a proper number 1. Second division twice home and away made up of the bottom 4-5 riders in division one plus youngsters from UK and any unpolished under 24 gems we could get from abroad. Two issues straight off the bat is more money would be needed to fund an 8 team better quality top league and doubling up would have to stay for a while so it could pay for the bottom 60-70% of riders in league 1 being able to top up earnings in league 2. I would restrict top league to once home and away if nothing else this alone would stem losses as fewer meetings and if you only saw Kurtz, Bewley etc once a season you might get more inclined to turn out. The caveat would be home meetings at least every fortnight not months between one home meeting and the next.

Sad day for comets fans but to be honest not surprising, as I think only 1 meeting reached a break even crowd, others were a bit away from the level required. Thanks to Andrew Bain and back room people for getting us this far, thanks to the many sponsors big and small, as without them we would not have got this far.๐ตโช๐. Gonna put a lottery ticket on to try and help the comets out

Well,Jack's time might be legit,Chris went round in 59.79 earlier and the track was really grippy that that evening.Tai was struggling to keep up with Jack in that race! http://www.sheffield-tigers.co.uk/birp130052024.html The times were quick all night.

Leicester vs. Ipswich KO CUP Final 2nd Leg 30/07/26
TTT replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well done to the Lions, Rated them before a wheel was turned this season. Stewart Dickson is a likeable TM too so if we were going to lose to anyone then at least it was to Leicester. Richard Lawson is a moody bloke but he scores points to a point where he's a reliable engine room scorer so it's difficult to cut ties with him and find someone who is just as consistent as he is. Scotty Nicholls pulling no punches in his interview and that's the type of people I have respect for in all forms of life, Like I said when we got battered at Belle Vue, Tom Brennan needed help and Doyley should've have been back in, No ifs and no buts about it. At least Tom will be on a 5 something GSA next season to a point where he'll make a mockery of it. -
Glasgow vs Edinburgh - 31st July - Championship
Noelinho replied to JanAndersen's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The top four are currently looking pretty set, so not much riding on this one and Iโd imagine itโll be a polite, tame affair and very few emotionally invested in the outcome. -
Just Jack's to check then and we can re-establish Ricky's record.

Crowd was noticeably up on the Kings Lynn fixture ,plenty of kids in for free and a few 'old faces' around me that have been missing, were back.

Afraid these changes will come to late for many clubs.

It was later announced that Anders time was null and void due to a faulty transponder!

Not looking good for Workington next year.

This is British League top division match and including this reply, only five have commented on it, shocking! Add to that I read in this weeks star that Sheffield sent out 10000 free tickets to kids and only 300 turned up, I think Sheffield is finished.

Ah, more speedway racing with a sideshow of an autojumble of speedway/grass track stuff, might suit Dean, Allstar speedway and a few memorabilia stalls, but NOT and autojumble, should be a cracking weekend watching the uprights, and hopefully one or 2 stallholders will make their diesel and stall money back ? Here is an autojumble in case there is any confusion ( the rusty Ariel is sold !) Bing Videos

Indeed. One thing I will say, is if we now have far better contacts and ability to entice new top riders over, then thatโs exactly what we should do instead of taking the easier route and throwing a few extra quid at one or two of the small pool or top riders weโve already got here. There isnโt that many that youโd call world class riders over here at present, so if we can bring our own in and add to that number rather than pinch someone elseโs, then thatโs better for the league as a whole. More clubs would get a good number 1, and more world class riders over here to add to what we already have would make the league more attractive and increase the chances of securing a new TV deal.

Guess that will be a local bike show then ? cannot find any link to it on any of the motorcycle meet calendars, facebook events calendars Autojumble & Vehicle shows in the UK | Facebook or autojumble events calendars, where it needs to be in order to let people know where and what it is, so does not seem to be very well advertised ? got any links ?

Alternatively the sport as a whole looks at resolutions that would stop clubs losing serious money every season, perhaps this is what Coleman was getting at as in an 8 team premiership with everyone else in a watered down championship with reduced costs Something needs to change regardless

Lets hope so but sometimes we have to be realistic as the saying goes Rome wasn't built in a day and we have to judge IMHO the new promotion come Winter 2027! (Assuming we get a 2027!)

Does anyone know if there's a semi rich local business man/fan who might step in ? I know over the years sadly the willing benefactors who would swoop in and be willing to write off 50-100k per annum has dwindled along with fans coming in through the gates but maybe there is someone. Real shame as they seem to have an excellent track and a lot of work has gone into getting everything up and running.
