tigerblues 10 Posted July 14, 2008 I am so angry having sat through that.. WTF happened!? Great Britain on their Pushbikes = 25.5 1. Scott Nicholls © 1, 0!, X, 2, 1 = 4 2. Chris Harris 2, 1, 1, 3, 1.5, R = 8.5 3. Lee Richardson 2, 1, 0, 2, 1 = 6 4. Simon Stead 0, 1, 1, 0 = Pathetic i mean 2 5. Olly Allen 2, 0, 1, 2, 0 = 5 Nicholls - Captain Scotty ey, yes, fine night for the skipper and British champion.. what a joke that performance was. Bomber - won a race but for a rider of his standard it's not acceptable if I'm really honest. Richardson - slightly better than the British number 1 but nobody can excuse that, again from a rider of his standard. Steady - what a pathetic showing, glad we've seen the last of this joke for this year's world cup tbh. Olly - didn't expect much and he didn'd deliver much. Lynch isn't at fault, the joke of a team was.
Inspector 71 0 Posted July 14, 2008 And decent fish and chips! And with the sewerage farm just up the Road Team GB have a ready excuse for anyone suggesting their performances stunk of sh!t.

tigerblues 10 Posted July 14, 2008 As for Thursday, yes put Wuffy in , put Kennett in and I'd put Lawson, Bridger and Danny King in as well. The riders who wore the Union Jack tonight don't deserve to be there on Thursday. Those 5 riders you suggest there might wear the Union Jack with more pride unlike the 5 on show tonight. Can I also say how annoying it is to constantly be told they can't get a set-up or can't get their bikes right. What!? 5 Professional speedway riders can't get a set-up right for a track they know well. They knew how the track would be because most had a good guess before the meeting even began. How often do you hear Leigh Adams (as an example) say well things aren't going quite right, we can't really get the set-up right. Top riders don't!!!! Load of sh**e
Rob B 1,265 Posted July 14, 2008 Can't blame the track, other riders were finding grip out wide and also flying up the inside of riders.
Scott0311 94 Posted July 14, 2008 Next time 5 Coventry track specialists are required may I suggest using Nicki Pedersen Niels-Kristian Iversen Kenneth Bjerre Hans Andersen Bjarne Pedersen Chuck in Jonas Davidsson as a ringer reserve Woeful does not sum up tonights "performance". Embarrassing pretty much does. With nothing to lose in the race-off (can only see Poland and Sweden going through) drop all 5 and bring in the youngsters who will at least wear the race jacket with pride. Paulco 7,102 Posted July 14, 2008 Never mind there is a 17 year old who'll restore a bit of pride on Thursday . Whether it will be enough to get us through or not is another matter .
Wolfsbane 12,944 Posted July 14, 2008 What a load of weapons grade bo**ocks from Team Good Bye. To be fair to Lynch if your cloth is Primark you're hardly going to make a Versace suit however his team selection was bizarre in the extreme. I'm no fan of Kennett but he looks to be on the cusp of a leap forward so let's kick him in the nads eh Jim? Nicholls : Give me strength, what has gone wrong with him. Harris : Pop down to the local garden centre, you'll see some folks buying gates. Allen : Gave it a go but not up to this level although his teamates tried hard to change that. Stead : Never in a million years mate. GT : Lived up to his reputation. It's displays like this that persuade Brits to support their Club riders of other nationalities. gary moore 35 Posted July 14, 2008 Looks like a small crowd to me. That could be because team GB is more or less only Coventry riders, and Cov fans have vanished this season. Oh dear should have been at Poole or somewhere else other than Coventry. God no,we do like to see even a small chance of passing and that doesnt happen at Poole!!!! gary moore 35 Posted July 14, 2008 cant believe stead & allen have been in the world cup. says it all. I would have thought by now Stead would have learnt to ride a bike properly instead of the "lock up" at every bend????
Steve Shovlar 10,441 Posted July 14, 2008 And people on here call Bjarne Pedersen - Byawny. God could we have done with a rider of his stature tonight. He showed how a rider of ability and talent, yet who is a rider who will never be world champion, can ride to his ability and score a sackload. I was praying for the Brits to go out and beat him tonight, but he was a clear class above.
