screm 8,057 Posted August 18, 2013 (edited) Tough luck on Glasgow not to record a long awaited home win but its Somerset who record a victory with a last heat 5-1. Edited August 18, 2013 by screm
Najjer 2,890 Posted August 18, 2013 A good result yet again for the Rebels, seems like Alex winning heat 14 and the big'uns coming good at the end won us this one. Excellent weekends work though and another 7 points to the original collection.
gusworld 15 Posted August 18, 2013 Left it late but great win. Our big guns turned over Screeny in the last heat!

george.m 3,063 Posted August 18, 2013 A lot closer than many predicted. Anyone able to shed any light on the comment on the Updates forum that there's been a "declaration" that Glasgow might not be running next season?

Necessity for an air fence probably-financing it that is.
george.m 3,063 Posted August 18, 2013 Necessity for an air fence probably-financing it that is. Have seen nothing else on internet including Facebook and not surely about reliability of source (no offence). Wasn't at the meeting today, so don't know if it was a story doing the rounds at Ashfield or something else. You could be right about air-fence, however fund raising for this appears to be planned. Would be devastated if it came to fruition.

Away and troll elsewhere, ya weirdo. Now that is an opinion! Have a day off Trigger! Edited August 18, 2013 by george.m
Chewbacca 653 Posted August 18, 2013 Just a shame this match has destroyed any semblance of competition in the test match at Newcastle.
MD 1,307 Posted August 18, 2013 A lot closer than many predicted. Anyone able to shed any light on the comment on the Updates forum that there's been a "declaration" that Glasgow might not be running next season? Says in the programme that its Glasgow's intention to declare at the AGM in November they will be running in 2014 . Perhaps the dropping of the price for the Sportsmans Dinner by £10 suggests not many tickets have sold and the fence won't pay for itself.
glasgowmicktiger 142 Posted August 18, 2013 Shame really but you would have to pay me to listen to craig brown could have had joe and james speak about their careers would have maybe created more interest
MD 1,307 Posted August 18, 2013 Enjoyed today's match despite the scoreline. We had a bit of luck with Morris coming off trying too hard and Grajczonek also when his bike seemed to die on the fourth bend when leading. However North's stupid bringing down of Newman in ht8 was just desperate when he had the speed and laps to pass him. He was also racing Screen in his previous heat for no obvious reason. No complaints about Screen today, plenty about Grieves who was slow as sh*t again. Thought Ringwood was unlucky in ht12 to be excluded when Doyle came across to block the outside but locked up leaving Ringwood nowhere to go but run into him. Its tough going at the bottom! Starman2006 2,355 Posted August 18, 2013 Necessity for an air fence probably-financing it that is. My undestanding is all clubs excluding i believe the NL, have to have FIM approved airfences or Foam fences, and that might be a problem for a lot of clubs. But im sure with the help of sponsors fans AND riders this could be done. But it would depend on the clubs circumtances.
tyretrax 2,253 Posted August 18, 2013 I reckon this fence thing is due to the E.L. needing more teams, perhaps to suit SKY. So if you can't afford one you could form a New National League with the current N.L.
