Well done to the Comets , they were certainly more up for the challenge than the Witches and fully deserved their win .

Ipswich were simply awful , the only 2 riders to come out of it with any credit were Cam and Ritchie .

Refereeing woefully inconsistent ! Ht4 Bach gets a massive flyer and wins , Heat5 Tungate , less of a flyer and gets excluded !

If I didn't know different I'd have thought the ref was Barbara Horley !

The Witches been going downhill of late and it really showed tonight .

Too many riders off form at the wrong time and the change of riding order has made things even worse !

Very disappointed that any chance of playoff success has probably evaporated already .

Whoops!

Can't gate, can't pass, meeting lost....... Game over!

ps Ref decesions were a joke but can't do anything about that. Would be interesting to know under what rule Tungate was excluded for twice "moving at the start". and then not allowing a reserve to take his place. Andrew Tully on 8th Sept was excluded/Disqualified for same thing but a reserve was allowed to replace him.

Thoroughly deserved victory by the Comets. Came, saw and conquered, and never doubted themselves.

Almost impossible to recover from a home defeat in a mini-group, without producing a remarkable away win - but the same applies if it was a two-leg match.

Assuming Comets win on Saturday, hope the Witches can then do them favours against the Moanarchs :)

Well done to Workington on a deserved win. The Witches couldn't gate (& got excluded when they did!). If a racer like BB can't pass then something is up with the track. Heeps & Hawkins were the only 2 Witches who really performed. Its a massive uphill battle from here if the season's good work is not going to go to waste.

Well, well, well, who would have thought :-). That will teach you for picking us as the massive underdogs!!! yesssss gettttt innnnn. Now that was a shocker wasn't it, at last a bit of luck on our side for once. What a performance from each and every one of you, so proud and quite totes emoch , haha. Been watching live updates on Worky official site and the nerves are shattered.

WELL DONE THE MIGHTY COMETS.....GAME ON ..

That wasn't luck TJ, that was a deserved win by Worky tonight. Other than Cam and Ritchie your boys wanted it more I think.

Delighted with that, what an excellent, if decidedly unexpected win!! :D

Did say we had gone well here before and another performance of the like was needed to stand any chance tonight and the boys duly took my advice, stood up and did the business!! :t:

Front four turned up and delivered, bit of basement back up and those elusive wins from the heat leaders duly arrived this time and made a big difference to the end result?

Cant get unduly carried away just yet, seem to remember the over confidence of the League fixture coming off the back of a Cup tonking for Ipswich at DP early doors, we then promptly got stuffed ourselves?

Expect Ippo will want "another" performance like that on Saturday to stand any chance of staying in this competition, their matches with Edinburgh will be the key as to whether we get thru, don't think we'll get owt there Friday so an Ipswich win next week at home would be very handy for us, provided of course we don't get careless on Saturday coz if we do, well, it wont matter, will it? :D;)

Must be some sort of end of season madness that affects officials.

Two riders excluded for delaying the start at Redcar last night, to the bemusement of everyone except the referee.

Was a replacement allowed HT?

dont think you can have a replacement for delaying the start. only for tapes/2 min etc . as posted on here , a reserve replacement was allowed early in the season for a delay ex. answers were on a post card please to this forum... oh and well doe to the marras..luv it.

The referee was a total joke last night, so inconsistant. How he could keep pulling the Workington riders back for rolling starts and then let them get away with it in the reruns. Then he excludes Rohan after Richard Lawson was warned totally summed the refs performance up.

Good luck to the Workington riders tho' they took advantage of this and on that track last night gating was important and this advantage definitely told.

Can't see Ipswich getting anything at Workington so play-offs over. The decision to put Morten at 5 hasn't worked like alot of us said it would.

Do you mean said it wouldn't? Cos I never for once thought it would work. When it comes to the crunch of important heats, sadly morten very often goes missing. Poor poor management choice, but hey, what the hell do we know.
