Crazy robin 2,968 Posted April 15, 2014 Kyle Newman started in the NDL with the Buccaneers at Poole, anything wrong with that? The lads keen, he's a local lad wants to ride for poole and wants to be the best he can. And he's English... He'l have my support all day long.. Yeah & no-one disputes that but how many seasons ago was that & the fact that he is the rider in the draft who appeared in the National Lge longer ago than anyone else is more the issue here. Ashley Birks appeared in the National Lge after Kyle but was refused a place on the draft so no real consistency. I hope Kyle goes on to have a great career in the Elite Lge but he & Garrity should've been in the same situation as Birks & that's the issue here & not who he rides for. Hope that doesn't get lost on you.

orion 7,631 Posted April 15, 2014 Having watched the meeting last night I am not too worried about the meetings on friday. Not having Steve Worrall is a major loss and Poole have a very good reserve in Kyle Newman. A lot will depend if Magic has an on or off night. The Robins will match the rest of the team, should win at home and get at least a point in Dorset. Both SS and Starman are getting their excuses in already. I can't see this at all ..Newman can beat our second strings based on last night ..without Worrall Poole to take max points from both meetings

Steve Shovlar 10,450 Posted April 15, 2014 Updates say leg being placed in splint. No chance of him riding by the sound of it. Hope he hasn't broken his leg as he has been showing good progress this year.

Reliant Robin 492 Posted April 16, 2014 (edited) Updates say leg being placed in splint. No chance of him riding by the sound of it. Hope he hasn't broken his leg as he has been showing good progress this year. Let's hope it's just a precaution, as you say he's been showing some good progress so far this year. EDIT: just read elsewhere that Kyle has posted nothing broken, so good news Edited April 16, 2014 by Reliant Robin
Skidder1 7,659 Posted April 16, 2014 Let's hope it's just a precaution, as you say he's been showing some good progress so far this year. EDIT: just read elsewhere that Kyle has posted nothing broken, so good news Nothing broken as far as the first X-Rays are concerned but left leg is VERY swollen. More X-rays today/tomorrow. If its ligament damage that can often be as bad as a break in terms of recovery time. Its a shame the current list of 36 FTDR doesn't include the new British U-21 Champ!!!! Get well soon Kyle. Steve Shovlar 10,450 Posted April 16, 2014 I guess we will know later today who is stepping in for the Friday meetings. Could well be two different riders. Either way we will probably be looking at two 5/1's against us in both meetings. At least with Kyle we had a good chance of drawn heats. So the lads will have to attempt to make up 8 points in both meetings. A very tall order and expect Swindon to clean up 4 points over the two meetings. Rather an injury now though than a couple of years ago at playoff time.
