dontforgetthefueltapsbruv 10,713 Posted June 7, 2014 Polish updates showing 37 37 34 with the Czechs winning a run off??? They have Howarth winning heat 1 not third with Holub position reversed???
SCB 15 Posted June 8, 2014 (edited) Which seems odd then as Garrity replaced Howarth in the last round of heats, how was that possible if we were not 6 down going into the last race? :/ edit - I'm guessing heat 17 was Howarth and not Garrity. The score is definitely right.Run-off between Milik + Morris.Pretty sure Howarth won the first heat as well, but just from memory as i didn't fill in my programme.Pretty good meeting i thought apart from the falls and seeming problem with the track breaking up. Nice to meet whowasthatberntpersson + wizzer

Great effort from the boys - good to see us competitive in meetings like this again. So near and yet so far but lots of positives can be taken from this surely.

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv 10,713 Posted June 8, 2014 And in contention right til the last heat where as in recent years we have been the team tailed off and making up the numbers. Its a start without which you cant look to get to the middle and then the end eg rostrums and then winning. At least now there is some kind of plan rather than just leaving the youngsters to sink or swim.
Jonny the spud 2,281 Posted June 8, 2014 I was flying back to France yesterday after taking in Ipswich and lakeside and to see Phil Morris and Neal Vatcher at stanstead airport at 5am with new sponsored team suits and polo shirts for the riders and escorting them to the track. You just had a feeling that organisation is starting to work its way into the youth set up It's heartbreaking for the boys to have missed out after being in contention right upto the end, but the signs are there that finally there's some kind of proper set up and vision for the future. Onwards and upwards.
salty 2,208 Posted June 8, 2014 At least we're now talking part in these competitions. A few years ago we weren't. Good to see that there now seems some realisation that this is exactly the sort of experience the lads need.

iris123 21,099 Posted June 9, 2014 Was also good to see Andy Smith + Mark Courtney, even if they were helping out the Aussies Reminded Andy of the time they held the meeting in Güstrow up for him.telling us every 15 minutes or so how far away he was.He got to the stadium jumped on his bike and rode like a champion. He said he loved Güstrow. "like a small Sheffield",was his description
