Catch Me If You Can

Glasgow V Rye House Sunday 31st August Pl

Recommended Posts

I was under the impression that neither Theo or Rusty could take a ride for Wolbert cos of the new averages - whoops. Can't see it making much difference though.
If only I wasnt so damn stiff and sore after 3 games in 2 days I'd be sorely tempted to go curling tomorrow again instead

Glasgow are now offering a free programme to season ticket holders or a £2 off voucher for next Sunday if you attend. The promotion have smartly recognised a wholesale no show from the home fans and whilst acknowledging the situation is beyond their control have offered an olive branch, albeit small.

Where specifically are all of our missing riders?

I know Dimitri is injured but what is the excuse for the others?

At £16 admission which is too much to watch PL speedway don't think it will persuade many.Should they not just reduce admission for this fixture. Edited by Fromafar

Wolbert is riding in the German Championship and Palovaara and Lykke are riding in the World under 21's . For some bizarre reason the under 21's are not viewed by the BSPA as an official meeting , hence we have a couple of wobblers at 1 and 6 .

It's the European under 21s Paul which is a competition not recognised by the BSPA. . That's why we were using Sarjeant last night in place of David.

Why on earth do we need a European under 21 championship anyway ? Fed up with this nonsense

To be fair, on many other threads where we have been bemoaning the lack of British progress, people have said we should embrace these junior European events as a means of giving our lads much needed international experience. Given that our teams are wrecked with absences anyway, we might as well enter our own lads, rather than bury our heads in the sand and pretend they don't exist.

Becoming hard to see much of a future for weekend Speedway in Britain.

Britain's governing body have no interest in helping our country's young riders . How many times have we heard in the last few years where Britain's under 21 champion cannot afford to compete in the World qualifiers . Surely the BSPA should at least pay these young rider's travelling expenses .

But should one of them blossom on his own and make the grade to World level , the BSPA are happy to bask in the glory .

The problem is British speedway not the rest of the world and foreign riders. Gone are the days when Britain ruled the world and could pay riders so that they would race here first. Need to get one race day for each league and completely restructure around that. These championships no matter how diddy you think they are need to race on one day.

Suppose my thought processess are still stuck in a time where Britain was the centre of the speedway world . But regardless of that , what's on offer at Glasgow today is an affront to the Premier League and an insult to the paying public
