cyclone 943 Posted October 26, 2014 All the best for the future to Captain Marvel whose career reached a fitting climax as the skipper of the most successful Monarchs team ever. Hopefully we'll see you around Armadale next season, inspiring and motivating the 2015 Monarchs team from the sidelines

Arson fire 4,785 Posted October 26, 2014 For all he was never a big scorer or big heat leader, there cant be many riders around who have won as much as Deek has over the years in PL speedway. Happy retirement Derek
salty 2,208 Posted October 26, 2014 Sad to see him retire. Glad that he can make the decision himself. As Arson says he won a fair few medals.

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv 10,710 Posted October 26, 2014 With the fast track system looking to produce the next British World Champion (allegedly!) it shouldnt be fogotten that the likes of Derek Sneddon are equally important. The backbone of the 2nd tier capable of mixing it with the top end at that level at times and the first benchnark for newcomers to measure themselves against if they have ambitions to 'make it' in the sport. Enjoy your retirenent Derek.
Fromafar 10,416 Posted October 26, 2014 Every team needs a rider like Derek Sneddon not a superstar but put in superstar performances just when it mattered in so many important rides in vital matches,a real thorn in the side of many teams. All the Best in retirement.
Bandit59 1,153 Posted October 26, 2014 Enjoy your retirement Deek right time to go out on a high.
smod 145 Posted October 26, 2014 When your team wins the whole league by one point, and you've scored three points, your contribution is as vital as the guys who scored maximums. Well done Derek, you've gone out at the very top!
TheScotsman 2,484 Posted October 26, 2014 Happy retirement to the Deek man. Always a wholehearted trier popping up with some great rides. And fantastic at generating team spirit. Must not be lost to the sport. I had the pleasure if watching him knock up 16(?) points in a match at Ippo last season. Sensational!

CaptainAudi 147 Posted October 26, 2014 Sad to see Derek go, but it's definately the right time! He was an inspirational captain (two league titles as skipper says it all), and his passion rubbed off on many riders, including this years team. Hopefully he can manage to provide a presence in the pits next year to insipre the 2015 monarchs team.
