Midland Red 2,383 Posted July 25, 2016 May I be the first in this thread to wish Bees a successful season at Rugby Road next year!
mdmc82 2,878 Posted July 25, 2016 Thanks 👍🏻 The time seemed to go very slow waiting for the announcement to come. It still doesn't secure us long term but at least we have some hope. Credit to all those who made this possible. Rugby Council leader Michael Stokes says it was an awful lot of work to finalise the deal and praised the efforts of Mick Horton throughout. He added the passion of Coventry Bees fans was a massive influence on his commitment to securing a deal. More online soon. 🐝

mdmc82 2,878 Posted July 25, 2016 (edited) What's the deal folks??A one year lease with possibility of another two subject to conditions. http://www.coventrybees.co/news.php?extend.3671 I would imagine the conditions are that we are actively searching for a new stadium in that time. Ommer Mon 381 Posted July 25, 2016 How nice to find a Council Leader and Council who are prepared to get off their backsides and actively protect such a key leisure facility. Rugby 1 Dudley 0. Massive congratulations to all concerned. Now get on with finding an alternative because the Developers will use this as a demonstration of their good will in trying to rehouse the Bees. you have to make best use of the time you have been given.

Skidder1 7,637 Posted July 26, 2016 Maybe one of the conditions is for the Bees to get a strong team for 2017 - as per Horton's statement today!! ;-)

Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted July 26, 2016 Maybe one of the conditions is for the Bees to get a strong team for 2017 - as per Horton's statement today!! ;-) Not much chance of that. They would need 6 new riders to join KK. You think Horton will fork out for that?
