auntie doris 2,345 Posted August 5, 2016 Yep that's not good, the amount of work put in by these guys on a voluntary basis. Good article in this week's Star.

auntie doris 2,345 Posted August 5, 2016 Was it last seasons Coventry forgot to do a collection? The bumbling Bees collected over a grand, probably all from the same fan!
Skidder1 7,654 Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) Had a collection on Wednesday at Poole and no rider hit the main stand. Have to agree in part. Only one Wolves rider tackled one end of the main stand. 3 riders (2 Poole and 1 Wolves ) wandered along the front of the stand but didn't venture into it. Most disappointing. But it doesn't stop fans from donating direct to SRBF - if they have any spare cash after giving to the Darcy fund!!? [/quote If everyone gave a quid during August home meetings would average around 4 grand, which would be about 4 times last year's collections. When you see Darcy in his wheelchair at Swindon, and read about the 13 lesser known wheelchair users, they have suffered life-changing injuries in the name of entertainment. Well done to Paul Ackroyd and his band of mainly Oxford based volunteers.
ray c 2,299 Posted August 6, 2016 we sit behind the start gate at poole and the only rider we saw was chris holder going a long the front on the greyhound track i think a lot of money was missed for the collection
poole keith 912 Posted August 6, 2016 agree ray very poorly organised on wed,but it always is.put collectors on all the exits and catch everybody as they leave, and as the summer crowds at poole are at least 20% holidaymakers the announcer needs to explain its a once a yr collection for injured speedway riders.(didnt help the ben fund collection that there was a lady going round the grandstand with a bucket before racing collecting for darcy)

Jacob Thorsell came up into the Grandstand by the refs box but I don't think a lot of people saw him.
