Mark 1,497 Posted January 13, 2017 what do you mean, do they not accept English cards? If you are worried about getting a ticket Email or phone the club. Most Poles speak great English and will help you.
racers and royals 8,728 Posted January 16, 2017 Looks as if the Nice Polska league(2nd of the 3 leagues) will move from being shown on TVP to Polsat. this is expected to be confirmed soon. Although not 100% confirmed, it looks as if it will be a 3 year contract Polsat will have- and the good news is that 2 matches are going to be shown from each round.
uk_martin 1,606 Posted January 17, 2017 Am going to Ziolona Gora v Gorzow on August 13th. One question, haven't been to that stadium before, do they do advance tickets or just pay on day? I've gone down the route you are going down twice now at Zielona Gora. As has been mentioned, e-mailing the club in advance to let them know of your travel plans is a good idea. What they did for me, was that they had my tickets available for collection at a ticket booth, and I paid for them on arrival, in cash. You would probably find yourself then being in the "VIP" stand which is on the exit of the 2nd bend. It's a great view, with the Falubaz Hooligans to your left. I intend going to this meeting as well, later in the year, with some travelling companions. I'll be getting tickets from my friends in Gorzow, and will be in "the cage" with the rest of the Stal fans. Now that's a real "hardcore" experience that you've probably not seen outside of the football sphere, in the hight of the hooligan era. When someone said that this was a "hated" derby, they were not wrong. Both in Zielona Gora and in Gorzow, the away fans are given an armed Police escort into the stadium, and are kept in a segregated "cage". Completely different to how it is in speedway anywhere else, but well worth the experience. Also, llike with football, after the meeting, exiting times are staggered. Home fans can leave straight after the end of the meeting, but the away fans are kept caged-in for about an hour before being escorted back to their designated car park. Bear that in mind when planning your traveling time. The thing to remember also is that you'll need your passport with you as ID. It will definately be needed at the turnstiles, whether in the home or the away "end". Something else you might want to bear in mind. If you are flying in to Poznan, you might want to base yourself there and drive to / from ZG on the Sunday, and then on the Monday, there's the Polish Elite League Riders Championship in Gdansk. You can get a Polskibus from Poznan to Gdansk very cheaply, and fly home from Gdansk afterwards, as an option. One other thing to bear in mind, so that it doesn't come as a surprise, is that the Falubaz v Stal meeting is the day after the Swedish SGP. If, and it's a big if, that meeting is rained off and restaged on the Sunday, the Falubaz v Stal meeting will be postponed. No guests, no R/R, none of that nonsense. Most if not all the Polish League will have a day off if the SGP is postponed. It's just one of those risks that you need to be able to accept when going in for these things. That said, Malilla is the one track that can survive the rain. I was there at the last SWC to be held there, and the amount of water it dealt with was mind blowing, and a great compliment to the track and the track staff who ensured that the meeting took place, The chances of Malilla being rained off are pretty remote, but you can never be sure. However if there is one SGP with the minimum risk of a postponement it's Malilla and I'd feel happier the SGP before race day being at Malilla than I would at many other venues on the SGP circuit. uk_martin 1,606 Posted January 17, 2017 Malilla did rain-off last year lol. Good. Every track will at some point or another. Statistically, it's good that the once in a blue moon time that Malilla gets rained off has already happened rather than it's waiting to happen. Unless you believe in lightning striking twice in the same place....???

Skidder1 7,637 Posted January 18, 2017 Just popped into the Polish 2017 thread to check the latest and see we are discussing Malilla and the weather!! Weird!!
racers and royals 8,728 Posted January 18, 2017 Just popped into the Polish 2017 thread to check the latest and see we are discussing Malilla and the weather!! Weird!! You should know by now that everything in world speedway revolves around Poland- so a meeting called off in a notorious thunder storm area in summer in Sweden would cause a complete close down of the Sunday programme in Poland- causing misery to thousands. If you have travelled out as a punter it is reasonable to expect you might be slightly pi$$ed off- what`s the saying " better forewarned than forearmed"

Skidder1 7,637 Posted January 27, 2017 As anticipated Torun are having issues with their signing of Jack Holder, who has NOT obtained written confirmation from his other clubs of his availability for any rained off Polish Extraleague meetings!! (Speedway Star - 26/01/2017). This means he will not appear for Torun at least until their transfer window in May. He may be loaned out to a 1st or 2nd tier team?! Losthammer 21 Posted February 2, 2017 Although not 100% confirmed, it looks as if it will be a 3 year contract Polsat will have- and the good news is that 2 matches are going to be shown from each round. That has been confirmed now I think? Means a change of hardware for me as NC+ doesn't have Polsat Sport. However it looks as if the whole lot is going to Polsat in 2019 or so, so worth the investment.

Polsat will be interested in the next Extraleague contract but N sport will not lose it without a big fight- could well come down to who has the deepest pockets. This is obviously great news for the clubs !!

This is obviously great news for the clubs !! Polsat was the first tv channel that started to show speedway matches on regular base at the beginning of 90's they always do a good job at it so this is a good news.
racers and royals 8,728 Posted February 10, 2017 Polsat gonna broadcast two PLŻ meetings a week but only one of those will be shown in a free to watch Polsat channel. The other will be in Super Polsat which is a paid channel. This information is of course for those who aren't thieves who steal signal. just as well that us watching in the UK don`t steal the signal- that`s the streamer. Been announced that Magic has signed a contract to use GTR`s this season.
arnieg 3,643 Posted February 11, 2017 (edited) Well if I'll buy a stolen car i ain't stealing it. The thief stole it. Right? But whether or not you have valid title depends on the circumstances. see Lewis v Averay and Little v Ingram Edited February 11, 2017 by arnieg
