mikec 412 Posted December 14, 2018 Really looking forward to seeing this Colts team in action, looks an ideal blend to me. Think Bickley & Flint will push each other along for the no. 1 spot, looked like the banter about that had already started last night between those two at the fans meeting. The Dog 413 Posted December 14, 2018 Leon Flint is a superb talent and a fantastic character to have around the pits, lively and hilarious, he was one of the main reasons the team spirit was so good at Birmingham. Will have learnt a lot last year and will kick on at Belle Vue.
alkadera 100 Posted December 14, 2018 Not sure jordie Palin will be overshadowed next season. Absolutely flying by the end of this season and beat flint and Edwards to win to the belle Vue round of the GB youth championship.

ouch 1,191 Posted December 16, 2018 Good luck to our mate Jackson Andrew Smith up at Redcar in the Championship for 2019. With Redcar switching to a Friday racenight - the same night as the Colts - Jack wasn't available to us for 2019, but it's the right decision for him to push on into the higher league. We wish him well and hope to see Jack back at Belle Vue in the future, and hopefully riding for the Aces.

Not that he is unavailable for BV because of Redcar...
25yearfan 476 Posted December 16, 2018 Shame that Jack Smith a rider who still looks like he has untapped potential has been discarded because of the points limit being reduced only to be replaced by Danny Phillips who looks like he probably won't go any further. topsoil 2,498 Posted December 16, 2018 Since team limits were introduced, there has always been victims, it just happens to be the turn of Jack Smith at Belle Vue Colts this time. But speedway is a sport that suffers from numerous injuries, so give it a couple of months and chances are a position will arise for him through injury or team changes. Patience is a virtue. This is the same Jack Smith who started off last season riding for three teams in three leagues, when no doubt there were others who missed out on a team place. What comes round, goes round. Smith wasn't a victim of the points limit. He was a victim of the Bears and the Colts having the same racenight. Phillips isn't a replacement for Smith, he's a replacement for Lawlor who had the same Friday clash with Glasgow/BV. If anything they are victims of the NL AGM being a few weeks behind the PL/CL AGM. Though they signed for Redcar/Glasgow some weeks back, they're not allowed to say anything until their signing is officially announced.
25yearfan 476 Posted December 16, 2018 A previous poster said that Smith had been released by Belle Vue before he had signed for Redcar!

"A previous poster" is wrong then. (People sometimes are wrong on internet forums). Only being announced at Redcar on Friday doesn't mean he didn't actually sign weeks ago. If you want to know, it's often best to ask someone directly involved. That's what I did.

Hodgy 976 Posted December 16, 2018 Report in Speedy Star two weeks ago stated Belle Vue released Jack. Maybe he had already agreed a deal with Redcar. A rider of his level needs NL rides to gain experience. Another victim of averages, as was Papa Smith on several occasions. 38 was a dreadful decision.
