The Cheese 2,025 Posted August 5, 2019 Harris' record at Gorican in the GPs was very good, certainly can't rule him out here

Really, I can't help but think he should never have entered the qualifiers. Edited August 5, 2019 by norbold

bruno 1,790 Posted August 5, 2019 Bombers had a cracking career and very nearly got to the elite, there was a spell (short maybe) when he was arguably riding as well as anyone but those days have long gone
Col 854 Posted August 6, 2019 Michelson qualify means no Danish permanent WC. I'd take him in GP's over NKI on current form but he's not having a good year in SEC. Lambert & Fricke have failed to deliver as reserves when called upon this GP season. But I'd take them over the others. As maligned & limited as he is Bellego was good entertainment in the SEC until he was Pedersened.

At Frickes current scoring rate had he raced all GPs he would be well inside the top 8, and Lambert made 2 semis so they ve not exactly failed to deliver. But then Tai has not won a heat in 2019 and that demonstrates how strong the line up is this year.

I’m not quite sure what your expectations were but I don’t think either failed to deliver, they have won races and reached semi finals and a final which isn’t bad for young riders. It’s s tough, tough series with no room for error and I think they have both done ok.

Always been a fan of his but he's not going to be competitive if he makes it back into the series. Can't fault him for having the belief that he can still improve but also needs to be realistic.

I've been able to get the following together based on posts on here, seems very little considering it's a fortnight away. Martin Vaculik Matej Zagar Niels-Kristian Iversen Craig Cook Peter Ljung Chris Harris Robert Lambert Pontus Aspgren Anders Thomsen David Bellego Mikkel Michelsen Max Fricke Martin Smolinski Kenneth Bjerre Aleksandr Loktaev Jurica Pavlic Will Lambert be fit for this? Will Harris manage to get back in? Fricke, Bjerre and Vaculik will go through for me. such a poor line up this year Michelsen, Lambert and Fricke please, would hate to see any of the other riders in next year's GP

There is still a qualification system and these riders did just that (bar one usually as a home nominated wild card?). Can't really knock them for that, many more fell by the wayside or weren't picked to enter by their own licensing body.
teaboy279 1,038 Posted August 8, 2019 Yeah, whilst I am a Bomber fan I doubt very much that he would ever be competitive at GP level again. BUT if he does qualify he will have done so on merit and no one can take that away from him. Be nice to see 3 brits join Tai but i'll settle for at least 1. I think Lambert will probably get a wildcard in 2020 baring injuries dropping a title contender out of the top 8.
Gavan 5,050 Posted August 8, 2019 I dont get all of this 'adds nothing' to the field talk Only 1 rider can be World Champion In a field of 15 riders you are going to get maybe 3 or 4 who will struggle it happens every year 2019 Zagar, Lindback 2018 Cook , Pawlick 2017 Lindback , Pawlicki 2016 Harris I want to see the best 15 riders in the world and dont care if some struggle in 2020 as long as they mix it. Riders have to come 14th and 15th Personally i would rather have Zagar and Iversen ahead of a Bellego or Pavlic
