Given it is effectively the "World Cup Of Speedway" you would imagine the teams would want to spend time together the day before it, (at least), wouldnt you..? And given it will be the biggest meeting of his career you would also think riding elsewhere the night before could be a bit distracting, not to mention problematic for the team (and the actual event), should he get injured... Earlier on Birmingham ditched our cup match for league match against Leicester so can that be seen as stating league comes first. Perhaps irrelevant if Glasgow wish first leg at home. See Snapper's post detailing the Son FIM Timetable, there is nothing happening on the Friday. So who were the 'people' , worried fans who heard something from someone who heard something from someone else? Or was it from the Tigers management/owners? If the latter I would worry if the former, it is just terracing gossip. And at this stage we don't even know if Tom will be in the team, albeit he is the obvious choice. Really. Most sportsmen want to play/compete not sit around playing cards or whatever. They certainly don't want to be sitting worrying about a forthcoming fixture or worrying about getting injured. The best thing for Tom, if selected for GB, would be to go out and score well at Edinburgh on the Friday and go into the SoN full of confidence.

Given there is no reason for him to be there as no travelling involved and no practice etc I'd assume he'll have to be at Edinburgh
