Riders now walking track, looking more promising. Maybe 8.00 start

No chance I’d Howarth has any input, same as Glasgow couple of weeks back just playing around no intention of riding.

Speedway eh !

Bet they take a break as well mid-meeting

Nearly as antiquated as cricket.

He can go home then and let everyone else get on with it!

Will work in BV's favour if a few Sheffield riders not interested.

You got to admire the Sheffield's determination to get this on, better than that farce at Peterborough!

Shame the riders couldn't be asked a couple of months ago in the same conditions at Lynn.

track covers reqd this time of year , but spose its better for boro , more time for palmtree to be fit

Track covers can actually do more harm than good. They'll essentially make the track "sweat" and bring all the underground moisture to the surface. Once the covers come off and the track is open to the elements, that water will make the top surface like glass. I understand people think that covers keep the rain off the track which they do, but the underground moisture is just a big an issue than rain water.

Six clubs and they still drag the season into October. Makes you wonder how they managed when they had twice as many teams in the same league. Covid and all the other excuses are just that, excuses. A major restructure is needed otherwise shut up shop and let each track do its own thing unless a few clubs can get together for match racing. Clearly the current custodians of the sport are not up to the job and they should stop pretending everything is OK. Hey you lot in charge, it is crap, get a grip and sort it.

Why can't they have covers that say hook to the outside of the fence and then attached to the inside of the track.Surely this would allow the air to flow and the track not to sweat.

I'd suggest it would act as a sail if the wind got underneath and at least rip the covers off or at worse damage the fence , therefore causing more issue's than it would solve
