lbw 869 Posted April 29, 2022 (edited) Sadly I'd say most tracks in British speedway are under threat for various reasons of not running the following season. I don't live in Poole so I don't 'pick up' the local feeling but they av the council on their side so I'd remain confident of them running. Trusting a council tho is dangerous stuff as we Long Eaton fans found out when they turned their back on us at election time. That was the Labour party! HGould 2,213 Posted April 29, 2022 The rumour mill wasn't that it was going to close, more that the Owners weren't going to lease it out anymore, but bring it in house and appoint a speedway manager. Given the owners track record it would undoubtedly be very unpopular surely?

Further on the Council and Stadia UK need to decide/announce what the long term plans are for the whole stadium site as well as for the whole of Poole town centre area.
Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted April 29, 2022 Rotten luck Plymouth losing Gilkes with a suspected broken arm. He has been excellent this season and I for one wish him a speedy recovery. Plymouth will certainly miss him on Tuesday and he will be irreplaceable. Get well soon. 5

All the best for young Dan, speedy recovery for a great talent. Never met him but know how much his speedway means to him judging by how gutted he was in the pits after the under 21 final at Redcar last year.

Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted April 30, 2022 That must have been one hell of a nasty crash. Did the bike hit him? Going to be a few months on the sidelines by the sound of it. Get well soon. He impressed me at Plymouth recently. Harris guesting was the obvious choice. Who is at reserve?
