Don’t think he needs the practice. Rides the Dale well.

Lasse due to drop to reserve so if not fit goodness knows who we can get. R/R for James

I thought assessed riders couldn't fall below their assessed average? Or that just Aussies?

As well as team- none maybe you should put sense-none. :icon_smile_clown:

Nope, Lasse will still be in the 1-5 next month -- but if unavailable, it'd be r/r for him, a guest reserve for Sarj.

Can't wait for the 10 pages of comments on unprofessional Brummie rider shows up to meeting with only 2 helmets :P

Well where to start. First things first hope all the guys who fell last night are okay.

feel bad for lasse poor boy can’t catch a break at the moment. Anything that could’ve went wrong with a big crowd in attendance did.

track was in good condition so nothing to do with the track conditions. Heat 2 was just a racing incident, typical first bend. Heat 6 Shanes just misjudged his attempt trying to go round lasse and bring them both down. Heat 8 awful decision by the ref. Nielsen Chain snapped and fell on his own. Blair also fell on his own yet only Blair was excluded.

Thought Shanes behaviour last night was awful. Toys out the pram and refusing to borrow a helmet, resulting in having to watch some 3 man races. Obviously must make too much money seeing he wasn’t wanting to go out and race.

Children's evening at sunny Armadale brought chaos on and off the track last night. On track, incidents and delays were the main dish on offer while, off it, almost 3 million whippersnappers ran amok, obviously desperate to sample the delights of West Lothian's plushest venue before it changes ownership. And enjoy a shot on the bouncy castle of course.

The meeting did have a number of noticeable achievements. Josh Pickering returned to his unbeaten best with a dominant performance and Jacob Hook bagged his first (and second) win(s) for the club. His reserve partner, young Blair, unfortunately wasn't aboard a weapon of mass destruction (or, looking at his scorechart, perhaps he was).

Overshadowing all of these, however, was young Fredriksen who notched his first paid maximum in Monarchs colours, despite being used as a human skittle by his jealous opponents. Firstly, soap dodging guest Brennan dumped him off in true Martin Dugard / Sean Wilson fashion after a tight finish in heat 1. Then James Shanes completed his bulldozing expedition in heat 6 with a game of wipe out before exiting stage left in a cream puff. There was an announcement over the tannoy requesting the removal of a white van. Perhaps Shanes volunteered is do it with his bare hands.

Of the other Brummies, the missing Vissing was ably covered (not sure the bar enjoyed being left with 300 unsold cans of Irn Bru though), Nielsen was very lucky to not only avoid exclusion from heat 8 but also still (hopefully) be in one piece, Sedgy looked edgy and young Morris will be dancing all the way to the Bank after his double figure return.

Roll on Friday. It's the Weegies again. Joy...

Think if you watch the replay you'll find fredriksen turned left on the home straight as drifted wide on the last bend:t:

Was the Shanes situation about not wanting to breathe in somebody else's respiration from their helmet ie a covid thing?

Not sure it has been confirmed. Helmets should be a good fit obviously and maybe he didn’t want to take the risk with someone else’s that he a) couldn’t be sure it would fit well and b) didn’t know the history of the helmet. I don’t think his decision is too ridiculous tbh.

I guess what would happen if he got injured whilst wearing someone else’s helmet. Would his own insurances cover him? Too big a risk I guess.

I can imagine after losing two helmets he was maybe a little bit pissed off.

That and having driven/travelled back from the Longtrack meeting the day before (a feat Aarnio failed to accomplish) a meeting where he was only reserve and watched Bomber piddle about from the sidelines, he was then faced with a struggle and Edinburgh so pee-ed off is probably fair. As for finding replacement helmets i suspect largely there wasn't one big enough for his ego to fit into.
