It’s a big ask for young Ben Trigger having his 1st meeting back since injury but at least he’s giving it a go. It's not fair on Ben Trigger at all, is it? He's being fed to the lions and doesn't stand a chance. Hopefully Ben will follow in the example of Henry Atkins, move away and find life better away from Plymouth. Henry is flourishing again at Oxford, under the guidance of a supportive club and manager. Edited September 7, 2022 by lucifer sam

It maybe in the interests of Poole to run tonight but it's not in the interests of the sport imo Maybe the BSPL could have considered the relative strength of Brummies and Cradley tonight and sought to avoid a clash in dates given that Plymouth are very restricted in terms of Guests in play offs anyway Of course Danny Ford refused and insisted it was ridden tonight which is his right and prerogative. If the match takes place it could render 2nd leg irrelevant. Just as important will be up to referee to ensure conditions are safe for all competing. May be if certain riders hadn't asked for 3 grand a meeting or others who wanted to ride for sensible sums mot been stopped by the management committee earlier in the season like Thomas Jorgensen, it would be such a potentially farcical outcome. That was proved when Brum came down with a patched up lineup. Big crowd. They will line up, if it is on, as: 1 Rider Replacement 8.402 Ben Morley 4.293 Ben Trigger 8.004 Anders Rowe 6.765 Dillon Ruml 7.156 Lee Complin 3.267 Connor Coles 2.00 If that is the official lineup, Pirates really need to be up for it. No sitting back. Plymouth could certainly hold us close. Rider Replacement certainly knows his way around Poole. Been here enough times. Morley is no slouch. Wasn’t Trigger from Only Fools and Horses in the GPs a few seasons ago? Rowe and Ruml solid and Complin always entertains with his around the boards efforts. Coles and Ablitt battling for the odd point. Too close to call. Do not forget that he has admitted himself that he is 50% wind up merchant & 50% gossip monger.

Far worse calling off a meeting two weeks ago due to a crap track with everyone inside. Looking forward to tonight. Prefer watching the Pirates over individual events. Hope the showers stay away and we have an exciting meeting and a good Poole lead to take to Plymouth next week. Melodramatic! So how would you feel if the boot was on the other foot? No Danny King, no Richard Lawson etc? You'd be calling for a rain off or similar yourself then.

But seeing has Hans was going to be riding in Denmark tonight anyway (if he didn't get injured). That only leaves Palm Toft. No fan will be happy about 4 of the team being out but if we had it and had to go to Leicester say. No way would they be postponing it imo! IronScorpion 1,408 Posted September 7, 2022 Riders probably want/need to cover their own costs to guest due to the opposition & fellow team mates as back up.

Doners123 85 Posted September 7, 2022 It’s a shame and it really is what it is. There’s nothing Plymouth can do about it most are riding in the “friendly” meeting this evening and probably shows why poole were being clever about why they were so desperate to get the meeting run with around 6/7 days notice. It is nothing but a full gone conclusion this meeting and then the home meeting is going to be pointless. those saying it’s plymouths fault for using R/R for Kennett all season there’s still R/R for kennett anyways. There is no riders around to replace him ! it is what it is, one bonus from this season is exactly how good Plymouth can prove to be when Gary May supported by mark puts a team together. Id have gone out on a limb and openly said that had we kept our originally agreed team for all season we would have won the league. 1-Lawson 2- Bowtell 3- Barker 4- MPT 5- Andersen 6- Gilkes 7- Atkins so although this season is all but over and has been an up hill struggle all season with injuries I’m already looking forward to the team put together for next year. by the way the originally declared team for Plymouth not one rider is riding tonight.. sums up our season. BTW not saying it’s pooles fault they are running tonight if anything shows the worry they had fancying a full (ish) Plymouth team over two legs.

You'd be calling for a rain off or similar yourself then. It would never, ever have happened to Poole. For starters Kennett would have been replaced the week following his injury. The likes of Barker would never had been signed by Poole so that puts that to bed. And Poole would have got temp replacements for injured riders and used guests that Plymouth don’t want to pay for. Latest forecast is a dry day and evening. Should be a good crowd and hopefully a decent Pirates lead to take to Plymouth next Tuesday. Bring it on!
