Anyone go to meet the riders last night? Is the riding order as expected, Rew at 2, King and Riss 3 and 4 and Emil 5?

Just read on Facebook,  apparently for v Peterborough this coming Thursday they ride

Jason

Keynan

Emil

Eric

Danny

Danyon

Joe

But as last year Ritchie will change order as and when.

Was at meet the riders and Hawkins said riding order for next week would be 1) Doyle 2) Rew 3) King 4) Riss 5) Emil 6) Hume 7) Thompson. Also that it would change throughout season. And also that for away they might move Rew away from number 2 so he could watch a couple races first. Unless he changed his mind after saying it when interviewed on stage

They do, but they don’t have have Doyle and Sayfutdinov at 1 and 5 either. Can’t have everything. Rew will be absolutely sound by the way, this boy is talented and the Ipswich fans will enjoy watching him. Has a style that will make him very popular.

I think it would make perfect sense to put Rew at 4 for the A away matches, can put him at 2 at home & for B fixtures away.

Isn't riding at 4 harder though, as l you have more of the outside gates, whereas riding at 2 you have inside more.

I hadn't put any thought into the gates, inside might be better one day but worse the next. I guess ideally tracks should have the gates as equal as possible.

It doesn’t matter what position you ride at, you have a ride off each starting position anyway.

The only difference is between home and away, which order you get the inside and outside.

If you are a pants gater and are at 2 at home,,, then that is pants management,,, you want to be at 4 where the track has more time to develop so you can use your passing skills,,,now if you are a good gater and prefer curb crawling,,, no 2 is a good place to be.

Didn't mean to quote you, hence deleted

Exactly, so having Riss at 2 makes sense.

It does at home,,, and on small tracks,,, maybe at a track like Belle Vue where first into the first bend doesn't often win the race Rew would be good at 2,,, it should be horses for courses,,, but I certainly wouldn't be starting the season with Rew at 2,, Riss would be at 2 Rew at 4 until its seen how Rew gets on with the track
