I would suggest not much visually given such a short amount of time in the role..

Hopefully now he has had some time to review what goes on, and the huge potential that the current operating model delivers, he will he able to influence the required change to move the sport forward..

Obviously you are good at making statements,, but not very good at observation and others comments. Phil  has full control on meetings and has got them running quicker which is a main complaint about many promotions. You should have watched the TV broadcast of the Cardiff GP to see how much he physically put into the running to keep the momentum which pleased the fans in the stadium and at home. Even the riders and their staff are aware now of their obligation to not be a cause of gaps in the meeting presentation.

His remit for the CEO of UK Speedway is somewhat different...

CEO's are not production floor managers, which is what you are describing...

Hopefully he has had a year to grow into the CEO role, and, behind the scenes, started to move the sport forward...

And his ideas will come to fruition this season...

"Getting meetings done quicker" is so low level it is beyond even judging as the only ones who complain are, by definition, there in attendance.

Its the "followers" not there that need to be "listened to" the most, as they will outnumber those who do attend quite considerably...

Let's hope he gets the remit, and the opportunity and support, to implement the radical changes so desperately needed, and the many thousands who still follow the sport closely, but don't attend/infrequently attend, UK Speedway, are attracted back more regularly...

Edit. And the GPs are driven by "satellite time" which means any over run and more costs, hence all through the decades of racing the vast majority are, and have been, completed to time. Ole Olsen was a particular stickler for it given the potential costs involved..

Surely his 'brief' is only for Premiership speedway, primarily for how it presents on TV.

If it is so, then that is still a HUGE role given whatever is shown is the window into the whole UK sport for everyone watching at home...

Seeing Bomber for example, meeting after meeting, riding for all and sundry, (and even sometimes for his own team,:D) is hopefully something that Phil will focus on and eradicate as part of a much larger radical move forward for the sport...

The TV meetings sell the sport and it finally looks like the penny has dropped, with crowd levels at these events basically being the barometer of what success, or not, that the sport has, so hopefully more planning will be put into them to engage a large turn out and reflect positively into the living rooms of those watching..

Mickey Mouse rules obviously will undo any amount of other growth ideas so let's hope Phil keeps them away from Speedway, so as they dont undermine the sport like they have done so badly over the years...

So he runs around a lot and makes sure everyone knows they have 2 minutes. I wish I could get a CEO job like that.

Oh Dear. Nobody said it was his only job, but the effect of hurrying the meetings up with no gaps in the meeting has been commented on regularly during broadcasts of meetings with statements like it was time the useless gaps were eradicated for the public. Get it.

In the meetings broadcasted on TV everyone knows that they never start at 7:30 and there are useless gaps for adverts and for showing the other meeting that evening, so not sure what he can do to improve that for the people actually watching the meeting live

Absolutely loves being the centre of attention. Often no need for it either. How oh how did riders know there was 2 mins before some muppet in a headset bustled into their pit bay to say?……

Judging by the shyness of most riders to get out of the pits and onto the track for their next race ...... they need someone shouting in their face to get a move on.

Classic example was in the p off final this season at Glasgow .... dozy Poole rider got himself excluded on 2 mins   ......
