Belle Vue v Wolves KOC 1st Leg 10/4 12.00

Recommended Posts

I will be there always am, but due to the score it's not the best meeting to fill a big bank holiday slot, should made this the league meeting and had the cup match a few weeks later instead of league fixture A.

Lidsey didn't have a good season in poland last year hopefully things will turn around for him.

Dan needs to find some form also

he has been a big disappointment in all the matches so far

Dan's starting technique is pretty awful to be honest...

Proper MX style..

Craig Cook has a similar way of gating which has obviously worked for him domestically...

Dan says he has put some "muscle weight" on, so maybe he isn't getting  out of the starts with that upright, 'lift feet up and go' style that he has, the same as he did when a bit lighter..

It doesn't need too many extra pounds for inertia to play it's part at the starting gate given how important every first few yards are to the overall result..

Sometimes, it looks like he goes upwards rather than forwards as the back wheel seems to bounce in the air...

The Polish faithful won't be as forgiving as the UK fans given so much more rides on his performances over there, so hopefully Dan can sort his early season issues out..

Always great to watch from the back so hopefully he soon starts to get to the second bend 'just behind' rather than a fair distance off, thus giving himself a chance of 3 points, and us fans a chance to watch a true generational talent on a bike..

There's no reason to change the league date. I'm glad they are racing the cup tie sharpish, stops other teams having to wait ages to play the winners in the next round.

If a league match is postponed, clubs will work very hard to find a date before the cut-off. Cup not so much!

We've now got two consecutive home matches v. Wolves anyway  - and both are Bank Holidays.

Take your point re: the KO Cup match not being very attractive though. Have spoken to a chap today who bought 4 tickets for his family for Easter Monday. He's now not bothering with the KO Cup match but swapping those tickets for tickets for the league match on the next Bank Holiday.

Agreed, and being a BHM it means the first leg score could have a lesser impact on the crowd than a non BHM would...

A good call from the Aces..

No doubt we are out the cup so im turning up hoping to see some good racing, Wolves tend to go well round our place so think we could have an entertaining meeting.

26 down not an encouraging situation to make a match of it. Think a lot of supporters will give it a miss. Maybe should have made it a league meeting and get a big BH crowd in.

What’s up with Danny Bewley - season away from the “National Speedway Stadium” seems to have done him no good at all?

Best bikes still in Poland?

Of course they are, no top riders going to have their best equipment in UK!

Wolverhampton, Tai Woffinden. Belle Vue, Robert Lambert.
Neither will ever be forgotten. And neither do the sport any favours.

But please, can we drop it?

One ringer was brought in legally before the play offs started, one was appealed after being turned down just for the play offs.

slight difference.

But both are hated by the majority.

As I mentioned a few posts earlier,  Wolves are already coming to the NSS in the league on the Bank Holiday at the end of May.

And Wolves' other league visit is in July, so maybe too late in the season for that to be swapped to  a KO Cup match.
